if you really want a social life, you would do something about it. Get out of your comfort zone and actually get out there and make some friends. You can't expect it to be easy and you can't give up just because it's a little difficult. You can't expect people to come to you. You have to depend on yourself and have confidence. If you're spending all your time indoors playing with games and yourself, then it means that having a social life is not something you truly desire. Let me reiterate: Get out of your shell. If you really want it, you would go for it.
P.S. I think, deep inside, you know exactly what you have to do, but you're just too lazy or selfish to get out and meet people. Don't blame your shyness or your fears for this problem.
