People are scared of the unknown. And what more unknown they death?

This is a very nice Spiritual question.To me this is the most surprising thing in this world.
Some people are so much bound to the material world that they fear that if they die they will lose everything. May be some people don't want to think of death. That is alright also because thinking about death may create a negative thought in a person who may be emotionally no that strong.
However the bottom-line is we are born on this earth as a soul and will return as a soul. The body, the wealth and all other things
are secondary and false.

I dont think people ignore the fact that someday they will die, I think that most people chose to cross that bridge when they get to it.

Many don't ignore, they just know that today has an effect on things after we die.

1: Life as they know it will end
2: They won't know what's going on in the world any more
3: There's often sickness and pain preceeding death and they don't want to deal with that
4: Everything that they planned to complete in this lifetime will be left undone
5: They will miss all the people they love and can't face that

the story is from Hindus Religious Holy Book called 'Mahabharat"
once when five brothers with their mother (called Pandavas) of the ruling family, were cheated and forced to exile. in their long journey, one day their mother felt very thirsty. one of her son went to fetch water. nearby he found pond of fresh water. as he proceeded to get water in an earthen vessel, the lord of the pond (lord of death called ' Yama') appeared and asked him to answer in question first and without answering his question anyone who takes water would die there itself. the young man refused to anwer and proceeded to collect water and as he entered in the pond he died instantly. after a long wait the other brother came in search of him and found him dead. he felt very angry and did not anwer the question and he too died. the other two brothers also died. lastly, the eldest of them, who was wise, calm and intelligent one, came to see what has happened. "Yama" again set his condition. he listened the question patiently. THE QUESTION WAS WHAT IS THE GREATEST SHOCKING SURPRISE OF MAN TODAY?
with all humbleness he anwered, O' Lord, the greatest shocking surprise of man today is that he thinks that he is "AMAR" MEANS IMMORTAL.
Happy with the answer 'Yama' then proved his identy and asked to ask for a 'var', 'holy desire'. he then asked the Lord to please forgive his innocent brothers and give them life again.

even though death is a part of life and everyone will die someday.... it's too depressing to think about.........why think about death .... enjoy the time you have here with all your loved ones............................. live life to the fullest....... :)

Because once they die , you forget about worrying about dying, cause you're dead , and then it doesn't matter whether you worry about dying or not , unless you aren't dead , then it makes no sense to worry about dying, cause you are alive ...
