Probably just the heat. Is the food freshly put out or maybe been sitting there too long?

Cats and Dogs, both seem to eat less in hot weather. I give my cat , half a tray of cat food at a time, and put the other half in the fridge. He likes it cold from the fridge and it keeps it moist.

You could try him on a different flavour or brand,, see if his appetite picks up. He may just be bored of that flavour and is being crafty.

It is common for animals to go off their food in heat just as we do. As long as he is still drinking, his stools are OK, he is not vomiting and he is his usual self in every other way he should be fine. However If it continues for more than a couple of days or he stops drinking water seek advice from a vet.

Most likely the heat, my dog was very hot at the weekend and my wife wet a towel and put that over him to cool him down, try putting rock sulphur in the water bowl.

How long has he been off his food? It probably is just the heat. Is he himself apart from this? If he is just off his food, I would give your dog 24-48 hours from when he last ate and then ring the vet for advice.

It is more likely to be the heat, I wouldnt worry about him unless he's displaying other signs and symptoms, if he's simply not eating but drinking OK, he's just hot. Dogs will eat when they are hungry, just like kids!

It could be the heat, but any time an animal stops eating it is usually not a good sign - off to the vet with you - just to be sure!

Your dog may be suffering the effects of heat but you should not overlook the possibility that he has developed diabetes which is indicated by increased drinking. It would be wise to let your veterinary surgeon do a simple test for diabetes.

my dog isnt eatin as much as normal either, he wont eat anything til the evenings when the weather has cooled down some. so i wouldn worry about it, unless he is acting strangely and not his usual self then its more then likely the heat.

My two dogs are hardly eating at all, they didn't eat anything at all yesterday and only half their breakfast today.
It is the heat, it's been the same every hot summer
