google earth is a brilliant peice of software, and another similar program is "nasa world wind" avalible from http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/
this is different to google earth as this program is real time, and is great for predicting weather, its not as easy to use as g/e but there is a tutorial in it so you can give it a go
have you updated google earth as there is a new version avalible(beta) go to http://earth.google.com/
good luck
