Since you are admitting that there is a God and that he is good then you must face the fact in the Bible it also tells of the evil. Satan!!! That is the evil in all things!

It is also the fact that the element of good is more in the creation than the element of evil. We all see that there are more people who are healthy than those who are sick. There are more that eat well then those who starve. There are more that live decent life then those who commit crimes. Goodness is the rule and evil is the exception. Virtue is the norm and sin is the aberration. Generally trees bear fruits, the flowers bloom, the winds move smoothly. .
This is a temporary world and every thing here has a time limit. When its times comes it will die, come to an end and finish. Neither the good things of this world are forever, nor the bad things eternal. We are here for a short time and we are being tested. Those who will pass this test they will find an eternal world that is perfect and permanent. Those who will fail this test they shall see the evil consequences of their sins and corruption.
How many times it happens that we are not careful and still we reach safely to our destinations. The way people drive in some cities, it is a miracle that more accidents do not happen and more people do not suffer. Allah says: (Allah) Most Gracious! 2- It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 3- He has created man: 4- He has taught him speech (and Intelligence). 5- The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 6- And the herbs and the trees both (alike) bow in adoration. 7- And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 8- In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 9- So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 10- It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures. (al-Rahman 55:1-10)
Abu Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him".

Here's the argument / the belief:
God is all good (omnibenevolent)
God is all powerful (omnipotent)
God is all knowing (omniscient)
If god were all these things, then there should be no bad deeds, but there are. To say bad things are caused by the devil is nonsense because if god were all powerful and all good, then he could destroy all evil. If god gave us free will in order to choose between good and evil, then he would know who would choose what and if he were all good, then he'd remove the evil choosers to protect the innocent. Well.. none of that is happening... so guess what... god cannot be all three.. but that would be logical and we can't have that lol.

There is no Good and Evil per se, there is action and reaction.
You're 4 year old toddler runs out into the street or tries to.
You catch them and spank them. Tell them it's wrong. They don't undestand the problem, they just feel the pain.
They disobey and run out into the street and a car hits them, that's the end of life. They just get very hurt and they don't undestand the situation, they just feel the pain.
The 4 year old doesn't undestand the concept of cars or no or don't.
Your 13 year old daughter gets told about the "evils" of unprotected sex.
She goes out and has fun with a guy and has a pleasureable experience.
She gets pregnant or herpes.
She don't understand the situation, just the pain.
You can explain good and evil, right and wrong til you're blue in the face, people don't undestand it, they just feel the pain when the worst happens.
That's the nature of things.
We want to run off and experience. We are ill prepaired to take the consqeucnes of our actions.
For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
That's a law of the universe.
Are you an evil parent when you spank your kids for running out into the street?
Are you an evil parent when you "ground" your 14 year old daughter for a year because the police found her in the back seat of a car with a boy in only her panties?
What is good and what is evil. She knows he made her feel good with his mouth, tounge and finger. She doesn't understand why you find it evil or wrong.

I will never know. But I do not blame God. I try to think that yes he did give us free will, the free will to choose between good and evil.
I also believe God is our father, and so he lets us grow on our own. While being a guide he also teaches us how to become independent, and protect ourselves, and find out what really matters in life.
He teaches us that with pain their comes compassion, with evil ththeir comes a want to do good, with sadness their comes a need to be happy. It is like, if we always only knew joy, happiness, love, we wouldn't fully appreciate it, we wouldn't know how wonderful it really is, because we really wouldn't know anything but that. I am taught that when we die and go to heaven there is no evil, no pain, no suffering. And I think that since we learned about love, hate, life, on Earth, we'll fully understand what life was about, and that it means something.
Also I believe when people are able to conquer the evil, it helps them feel self worth, and show others that they are strong, and are proud to be able to stand up to what they know is wrong.

I don't know but I know that God planned for evil because God planned for Adam and Eve to eat of the Tree of Knowledge. At least that is what I have been told. I am not a Christian so I just know that i have free will to pick a religion that isn't so complicated.

Jehovah is actually not a good god. He's a jealous god, and a vengeful god. In fact, if you compare him to any other myths, Jehovah is the most savage and sadistic god ever worshiped.
Jehovah killed babies and children, provided rape victims for his minions, attempted to kill everyone on the planet, tried to commit genocide on every non-Jewish race his lackeys encountered. There's even a Psalm that basically says that happiness is smashing in children's heads with rocks. According to the Bible, he creates people whose sole purpose is to end up in Hell to suffer until he can unleash even more suffering upon the souls of the damned in an ultimate battle of good and evil.
How is this good?
Jesus isn't any better. He spent his entire life glorifying the atrocities of Jehovah in the guise of divine love. He honored the Torah and all of the death and destruction Christians read about in the Old Testament. He is very clear that the laws of the prophets should be followed for all time. These laws include rape victims being stoned to death, killing disobedient children, stoning women who are not virgins on their wedding night, and several other despicable laws.
How is this good?
If you read the Bible, you will find that "free will" in the sense that followers of the Abrahamic religions use it simply does not exist. Jehovah is a manipulator. If you read the O.T., you will find that he is constantly manipulating people against the Israelites so he can prove how much he loves the Jews by helping them defeat the enemies he has given them. He toys with people, and makes them do whatever he wants. When he fails to control them outright, he makes them suffer until they come around to his way of thinking.
How is this good?
In Revelations, we read about the horrors that Jehovah will visit on believers and unbelievers alike. Death, carnage, destruction, and a war between Heaven and Hell that he has crafted through his meddling to prove for all time that he is the ultimate bad@ss. If you read the Bible, and think in modern terms, it's pretty clear that Jehovah has a tiny ****, because he spends way too much time trying to affirm his manhood.
How is this good?
Hitler had a master plan, and a final solution too. Need I say more?

Is there evil? or is it like cold and dark? Just simply the absence of good. Some would say that Evil does not truly exist that it is simply the absence of God. It is like you can not measure cold you are always measuring the presence or absence of heat and dark is the absence of light. It is a good point to ponder but none of us will get that answer till the judgment day.

Evil is there for you to know that there is Good and that you must choose good from evil this is why you are given a freewill. That is also to prove that you are God's image and you can live, do and think like God, but that depend on your own choice. what you choose you become and belong. Amen!!!!!

For everything there must be an opposite. Up-down, hot-cold, light-dark, good-evil, pleasure-pain, happiness-misery. Its the most basic law of the universe. Hence to have free will there must needs be choice. We could not choose to be good if there was no possibility of us choosing to be bad (an visa-versa).
