Ambassadors are appointed! they're often old prosperous polliticians that are owed favors so that they are appointed comfortable jobs in embassys doing no longer some thing yet sucking more effective money out human beings. So in case you`re questioning about "operating" for ambassador, forget it. All of Washingtons youthful toddlers, Aunts, Uncles, & those with secrets and techniques are already there.

Contact the State Department or check it out on the Internet. They are the ones who run the Embassies.
