Doing something that gets your mind off of the anxiety is good, I don't know if a violent video game is the answer. Does it upset you more or make you feel better? Try breathing exercises, exercising your body is a great way to vent, it gives you energy and makes you look good too! Try swimming, running/jogging, jumprope, weights...exercise has been proven to reduce anxiety. It def helps mine! Also, a good book to read, Mind Over Mood. Honestly I would stay away from anything violent. Good luck!

I surely believe it's unhealthy, what more vulnerable a time for your brain to play a violent video game and have adverse effects then when you're frustrated and full of anxiety? Any video game will do, sports are great to play to relieve stress, and you can play with other people online. Try and refrain from playing video games when you're frustrated as well because you probably will not focus as well, and if you lose, that's rarely fun.
I do not even see how it's healthy to play a violent video game when you're in good condition. They just promote violence, it may be fun to splatter enemies across a wall, and it may do other things for you, but it inevitably wastes your time when you can be doing something productive.

lol i agree with allie!
i think we would all be better off if people would take out their aggressions on video games instead of people/animals/etc. just think, you play a game for a little while and then you feel better, less like killing someone who pissed you off or whatever.
as long as you aren't considering doing in real life what you did in the video game...i'd say it's healthy ;)

I think so. I'd much rather a frustrated person do that then be out on the street venting hostilities on innocent people.

Yeah it's normal to do that. But don't bring the video scene to real life scene. Never vent your frust to another innocent soul.

Yes. Since long before videogames were invented, people have taken out their anger in destructive ways. The use of videogames in this instance, when used in the stead of actual physical violence, is much preferable.

Yeah, I find it to be one of the best ways to get something out of my system. Turn on GTA and shoot the crap out of people for no reason. It always calms me down, and then I can interact with real people in a reasonable and calm way.

NO!! you're training yourself to be a violent person. once you get used to it and you end up somewhere you don't get to play ur violent games, you will most likely turn to people instead. try listenin to music instead.
