When i get stressed i have a fear of germs and things like toilets, people putting there shoes where i sit, dogs!! It used to be all the time and i was always washing my hands but i was in a bad relationship at the time which made me feel depressed and my self esteem was low. Try and tackle areas of your life that you are unhappy with, are you worse at certain times? If so work out why and try to change it. It will get better, although i still have the occasional wobble its no where near as intense. Good luck xx

I havnt had that, but i had an OCD and mine was ironing, i laugh about it now but it got really bad, id ages ironing, say my work shirt, put it on then if there was a slight bit wrong id have a mass stress, screw it up as much as poss and start again, this could happen 3/4/5 times before i got it perfect, then id go over it all again with my trousers, i was an anti depressants for depression but they didnt help, so i came off them myself. My OCD actually went when i got pregnant, i was happier within myself and had something to focus on, im not saying get pregnant but i got over it.

I dont think it ever fully goes away, even now i have to iron everything, and do take my time over it and even get a little stressed f its not perfect, but i just take a deep breath put it on the hanger and walk away.

I hope you get over yours its not a nice thing to live with

I'm lucky, my OCD is limited to my CDs being in alphabetical order.

Only way to get over your fear is to face it. Ask your shrink to help you work out a plan to do just that. Go slow, phobias can be messy.

Go see a psychologist for medication, & stick to your meds even if they make you feel funny. 4 -8 wks. is minimum before you switch to another medication. Also see a therapist, MSW or a psychologist (Psy.D)
