Deuteronomy 18:18 “I (God) will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
Many Christians believe this prophecy foretold by Moses to be in regards to Jesus. Indeed Jesus was foretold in the Old Testament, but as will be clear, this prophecy does not befit him, but rather is more deserving of Muhammad, may God praise him.
The verse in discussion is explicit in saying that the prophet will come amongst the Brethren of the Jews. Abraham had two sons: Ishmael and Isaac. The Jews are the descendants of Isaac’s son, Jacob. The Arabs are the children of Ishmael. Thus, the Arabs are the brethren of the Jewish nation.[3] The Bible affirms:
‘And he (Ishmael) shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.’ (Genesis 16:12) ‘And he (Ishmael) died in the presence of all his brethren.’ (Genesis 25:18)The children of Isaac are the brethren of the IIshmaelites.

God Will Put His Words in the Mouth of the Awaited Prophet
The Quran says of Muhammad:

“Neither does he speak out of his own desire: that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired.” (Quran 53:3-4)
The prophecy continues:

Deuteronomy 18:19 “And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him.” (in some translations: “I will be the Revenger”).
Interestingly, Muslims begin every chapter of the Quran in the name of God by saying:
Bismillah is-Rahman ir-Raheem
“‘In the Name of God, the Most-Merciful, the Dispenser of Grace.”

New testament
John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.” (American Standard Version)
In this verse, Jesus promises that another “Comforter” will appear, and thus, we must discuss some issues concerning this “Comforter.”

John 16:13 “He will guide you into all the truth.”
God says in the Quran of Muhammad:
“O mankind! The Messenger has now come unto you with the truth from your Lord: believe, then, for your own good!” (Quran 4:170)
John 16:14 “He will glorify Me.”
The Quran brought by Muhammad glorifies Jesus:
“…who shall become known as the Christ Jesus, son of Mary, of great honor in this world and in the life to come, and [shall be] of those who are drawn near unto God.” (Quran 3:45)

The Quran announces:
“Indeed, they have disbelieved who say, ‘God is the Christ, son of Mary’ - seeing that the Christ [himself] said, ‘O Children of Israel! Worship God [alone], who is my Lord as well as your Lord.’ ‘Indeed, whoever ascribes divinity to any being beside God, unto him will God deny paradise, and his goal shall be the fire: and there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers!’” (Quran 5:72)

It's amazing, the blindness of Christians. Their minds are of stone, so much that they say "but if Mohamed didn't believe that Jesus blah blah blah" (the "blah blah blah" being their own beliefs) "then he's a false Prophet." The arrogance! of insisting that God does what He will according to views, agenda.

Be patient, and expect no Christian to listen to you, for there are verryyyyyyyyyy fewwwwwww in this life. Most will swear to the death by what they've been taught all of their lives, without opening up their minds, without wiping away everything, without detatching themselves from everything on earth and in heaven. THIS is the true seeker, the one who is detatched from all else save God, even detatched from everything s/he has ever been taught to be true. They are rare, and if they're still Christian, then they are not true seekers.

God sends his Messengers from time to time, appx every 1000 years. It's called Progressive Revelation. Christians have absolutely no concept of this, they've never been taught about "Messengers" or the like. All they've been taught and all they believe is that Jesus (pbuh) was God (which he was ) and there was no one else sent by God.... . The clergy won't teach anything else. They even believe that God's forgiveness is upon Jesus' death. Christians, God isn't contingent upon ANYTHING, thankyouverymuch. He can and does forgive with or without ANY kind of blood sacrifice. Jesus came to lead people back to God, he didn't come to be slain.

So be patient, because 1) that's all they know, and 2) there are few few fewwwwww True Seekers in this life.

God bless. : ^ )

maham,
People have been taking the Bible and using convenient verses to prove whatever they want it to say.

You said that you took the Bible. The Bible is the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Jesus speaks in the New Testament. He said that; there is no other way to get into heaven except by him.

In no way is Mohammed a better example of a prophet than Jesus. In no way is Mohammed a better anything good than Jesus the Messiah.

In Deuteronomy 18:18 Moses was prophecying Jesus.

Your attempt to tie it into the Arabs is refutable. The Arabs are not the carriers of the Birthright of the Hebrews. They are also not carriers of the other promises that went to Isaac or Jacob.

I know it's tempting to bring all the nice things into play, but it just isn't working here.

Ok , in Genesis17:20-27God foretells Ishmael as a great nation promised to him from God,Then Genesis 25:12-18 Is the Genealogy of Ishmael, any ways, who cares who Mohammad is if he Doesn't believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for the sins of all the world, and was raised in three days to be the only true and living God, Then he is a false Prophet.

I am so pleased to see you Quote the New testament for your conformation and validation Of your Mohammad. In order to quote these scripture as evidence of truth and proof You must believe them
.I will point out some more for you.

KJV Galatians 1:6-9
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

According to that logic, a Jewish king is not allowed to be Jewish since it says that a Jewish king must be apointed from amongst their "brethern". (Also in Deuteronomy.) Yet, we see that G-d told the prophet Samuel to appoint Jewish kings (first Saul, then David). G-d also explicitly said that the kingship would remain with the descendants of David.

Thus, what is clear is that when it says brethern, it means a Jewish prophet must be Jewish, not Muslim or other. Besides, according to that logic, why can;t a prophet be from Esau? After all, he was also the brother of Jacob.

The truth of the matter is, that the passage in Deuteronomy 18 is not referring to a specific prophet but to prophets in general as is clear to those who actually READ IT IN CONTEXT. (If that seems to be saying that the Christians have it wrong too, well then, yes, they are wrong as well.)

I don't believe that and never will. If Muhammad descended from the Jews like you said, how come Islam has this total hate for Jews and Christians? Muhammad was and is nothing but a False Prophet.

the problem arises when Islam says Yeshua Messiah was a prophet but not Christ. No religion in the world specifically takes another religion's main figure and says, he was cool, but nothing too special past that, except Islam.
That makes Islam and Mohammed an anti-christ - an instead of saviour.

The "Arabs" are actually a genetically heterogenous group of people and are not descended from one ancestor.

Therefore, it is impossible to say that all "Arabs" are descended from Ishmael.

"Arabs" are bound together by a common language and culture, but not by common genetics.

Secondly, the Bible does not in any way, shape, or form mention or refer to Mohammed.
