HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN Well, at least according to certain verses in the Bible. Three passages to be exact comes from a story in Genesis. In Chapter 18 of the Bible. Corinthians 6:9-10, both written by the Apostle Paul. He offers a list of sins that will keep a person out of Heaven. Among them is homosexual behavior. Every one who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery." "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. "
Matthew 7:1-2
I have read the Bible and it said this. Don't get mad at me.

Well I know that everyone has sinned but that's why God can forgive them. Remember you have to do more than believe in God.

I found that too. You forgot one more verse "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them 'male and female', and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?' So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate" (Matthew 19:4-6).

Ok, first, Genisis 18 & 19 (ie sodom and gomorrah is not about homosexuality. God believes these places to be full of unrighteous people (not because of homosexuality, but because of lust, and greed etc) so decides to destroy them. Abraham bargains with him to find 10 righteous people, and if he does, to spare the cities. But when the angels are sent to Sodom, they are threatened with rape (nothing to do with it being gay rape) and so god destroys the cities.
Also, Paul said a lot of things about a lot of things, and generally comes across a bigoted. You may say his writings in the bible are inspired by god, but I'm not so sure.
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God."
I don't see loving gay relationships in that list.
Also, places that use the word homosexuality in the bible are mistranslated, as there was no word for homosexuality when the bible was written. Those words generally meant male prostitutes and those that bought male prostitutes.
I'm a gay christian, and I was very interested in looking into all this when I was going through the coming out process. You may disagree, but that's what's great about our society, we don't all need to agree. We just need to respect other people's point of view.

No, its not. Nor is it an illness to be cured.
Some people are born gay. Period. According to your book, god is perfect as is all of his creation. Therefore, gays are perfect...the same as heterosexuals.
If you go to the old testament and read the most commonly thrown around arguement...do not lay with a man as a woman, and read a little further down the page, the bible condones publicly stoning a disobedient child. To claim that the old testament isn't relavent is an invalid arguement, because it also contains the 10 commandments...the biblical basis for what is known as sin.
The bible, along with every other holy book, is nothing more than a collection of rules to govern a society. They become impressive to primitive/superstitious man, when its claimed that they were handed down by "the supreme authority" who also happens to be invisible, and will only talk to you when no ones around.
According to the bible, the most important thing that anyone can do, is love...yourself, your nation, even your enemies. Why then is it so hard for this all-loving god to accept everyone as they are?

Life is too dam precious too think about all this and making a fuss of it.
U live ur life & let other live there life.
As i remember GOD ALSO said EVERY ONE IS EQUAL.
So LIVE & LET LIVE. WE R NOBODAY TO DECIDE WHAT IS WRONG & WHAT IS RIGHT(after all we can also be wrong somewhere).

Yes, church and bible doctrines says homosexuality is a sin. Anything that can be read in the bible is hard to question because we are taught that it's the God's word. But it's still the choice of man on what to believe in and what to follow. Everyone has the responsibility to his/her ownself but there's no one has the right to condemn nor judge anybody who have sinned... for we all have sinned. God knows who we are more than we know ourselves. We've already been forgiven even before we got sinned.
If homosexuality is a sin, there's no need to throw this sentiment on their face for it is what they are. People tend to discriminate people for they don't know what's beyond they see. You might be surprised, some of them might have the purest of hearts.
God Bless. =)

Homosexuality is something people get born with. What we are born with is a creation of God. This way I imagine, some could say if you're born with too many or too less fingers is a sin...
The Bible relates to those who enjoy experimenting a little bit like this and a little bit like that. Sexual relation should be reserved to one partner only, that is what the Bible is trying to teach us.

Yes. It is a sin because the Lord God said that it is a sin. He himself said it and denial does not make it not a sin. It's sad that this isn't taught to children at an early age.
But if they wish to live that way then so be it. It is what makes the world an odd place.
Peace be to God.

Yes its a sin. Some translations render in that verse "men who lie with men". Pretty straightforward. But remember, It's not us that does the judging, we can't read hearts like god. I admit though, it's hard to belive anyone homosexual has a chance.

Remember, those words were written by people, and people have always had their predjudices. There are churchmen today who say that women should not be ordained. But women are not incapable or inferior, the men are just scared. THEY want to call all the shots and are afraid of women getting some of the power. Imagine people in hundreds of years using THEIR words to vilify women! Forget other people, think for yourself!! Is it kind to call other people names? If it's not, don't do it, even if people in ancient times did. They were just the attitudes of the day. I truly believe that most homosexuals do not "choose" to be that way,

You’re as full of crap as Edna and you are both WRONG!!
It is only according to YOUR god that it is a sin. Not everyone believes the things that you do. I know that comes as a surprise but it is true. The sooner that people learn their beliefs and sense of morality are their own the better.
Why is it any of your business anyway!?!?!?!
You and those like you are too worried about things that are not your concern!!
Crawl back into your creatonist caves, read your mythology books, and listen to your mystics. But, leave the rest of us ALONE!!!!

no its not a sin, anymore than its a sin to be crippled or anything else, it is a matter of the brain and what the person is attracted to, they are preprogrammed to feel this way, however if lots of homosexuals were encouraged 5000 years ago the population of earth might be smaller. its all just a book of rules for society to follow if they want to be in this big group. leave the homosexuals alone and maybe they will leave you alone too.
