God created Adam and Eve in the beginning as companions as not couples. The thing that God has forbiden them to do is the "sexual action".God forgave them for their disobedience and commissioned them to go and multiply. This God's blessing and acknowldgement for the two to be together and procreate is the whole essence of the marriage rites in our time.Once your marriage is acknowledged then it makes you legally married. In the case of Adam and Eve God is the 'acknowledger' of 'can-be-considered' marriage of their time therefore we could not be considered bastards.(Addendum:The only difference is that Adam and Eve don't have a marriage contract for the following reasons: pens and papers are not yet invented,Adam and Eve are illiterate as no teachers yet,no other else to stand as witness.)

Were Adam and Eve legally married? Of course not! There were only two humans in the beginning, so who else to legalise it? Rather God told them to be fruitful and multiply. God was their "Solemnizer", isn't that the highest honor there is? So your question of whether we are bastards or not is irrelevant to the Adam and Eve scenario. We should be careful not to impose our modern way of legalising marriages onto the cultures of the past.
A bastard is defined as a child born out of wedlock. A marriage takes place when a man takes a woman solely to be his wife in a community that recognises such a union. If you are living in a remote tribe, you can have a marriage without any modern court of law legalising it, right? So legality is not a universal criterion for being married, or to be recognised as a married couple. So even if there is no modern court to legalise their marriage, it does not mean there is no marriage. Neither are their offspring to be considered bastards. You have to judge the case according to the accepted norms and cultures surrounding the case.

You don't have to be Legally Married to be married in Gods eyes, Genesis 24:67Jacob took Rebecka in to his Mothers tent and she became his Wife, and he loved her....it didn't say nothing about paperwork and going to Egypt to get everything legal and doing a ceremony and all that, that is just the Government's way of controlling Gods ways,But on the other hand, in Romans chapter 13:1-2 we should go by the laws of the land......so no, we're not all bastards the laws were just different between then and now.....

Adam and Eve were legally married and as a matter of fact the need for matrimony was the essence of creating Eve from Adam. We are not bastards, our fore parents were creations of God and they had authority to multiply and be fruitful. It is true that all human race sprang through them and therefore we are all related.

It is so insulting to call one self Bastard.
How many people address themself by this name.
" Hi, i'm, Bastard Smith. What urs, Bastard? "
" This is Miss Bastardo Mary, wanna play with my child Bastardo John?"
Adam and Eve were married? I don't know. I wasn't there and weren't born. It does not concern anyone whether they were married or living under one cave with little clothing on or off.
I means, if creationist is right about their theory, were they in the right frame of mind to say that Cain and Abel were actually lovers.
Abel reject Cain advancement for sex and was killed by his homosexual brother???
Or that Abraham and Lot were actually lovers having Sodomy activities???
Thus the Gay activity came from there.
Adam and Eve the foreparents.
Abel and Cain the first gay lovers.
Abraham and Lot introduced Sodomy to all humanity.
Can anyone dispute that statement?
Since I am a creationist too.

Oh I'm certain they had a wedding. I mean, what better place than the Garden of Eden for a Wedding!? And with God as the Best Man and the Preacher, it had to be a nice service.

I would have to say no as I do not believe that there was anyone else aroound to marry them at the time. So there is an anachronistic error here. There was nothing available to legally marry them.
