Quite a bit, but you would put it all back on again in a matter of a couple of days..... healthy eating and exercise long term is the best and most effective way of losing weight. No fad diets...

You would lose a few pounds but your metabolism would slow down and become sluggish as your body would not be getting any food so it would take longer to burn the food. When you eat it stores everything because it doesnt know when you are going to eat again. Starving yourself would only damage your whole system it is not the answer. The best way is with a controlled diet. Eat fruit in the morning, salad or soup at lunch and a balanced low carb meal at supper. Drink at least 2 litres of water. This way you will lose more than starving yourself. Dont drink any fizzy drinks even diet. Fruit juices are loaded with sugars so drink water. Doing this you will lose about 6 - 8 pounds in two weeks if you are strict and stay off the fats, sweets and eating late at night. Cheese is also very fatty so limit that.

Fasting is not a good idea. You wouldn't be losing fat, you'd be losing lean muscle, which is terrible for your body and can start a host of other health problems.
I'm sorry to tell you, that the best way to lose weight is by eating a sensible diet full of nutritious foods, and getting exercise.
However, if you weren't going to eat anything anyways, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to just eat less instead!
Some of the healthiest, lowest calorie foods that will help you lose weight and nourish your brain and body:
Blueberries
Spinach
Romain Lettuce (or any really green, really leafy lettuce)
Boneless Skinless Chicken or Turkey (avoid red meat!!!!)
Strawberries
Asparagus
Feta Cheese
Yams (well, not that low-cal but very yummy and good for you!)
Whole grain or Sprouted bread (do NOT eat white bread or any white refined flour products - they have NO nutritional value!)
UNSALTED / RAW Almonds, Walnuts, Cashews (for some reason, not peanuts though, or so my doctor tells me)
Also, salads are a WONDERFUL way to get plenty of fiber in your diet, with almost no calories. Did you know that 85g of spinach (which is a whole LOT of spinach) only has 40 calories? And Romain lettuce has even less - but is packed with zinc, vitamins A, C, and E, and other great stuff. And you can still use regular salad dressing - within moderation. I use either 2tbsp of ranch (which covers alot more salad than you'd think!) or I take extra virgin olive oil (1tbsp) with 1tbsp of Cider Vinegar and make my own tasty dressing!
I also recommend avoiding dairy products (or at least most of them) as they have all kinds of hormones and other things that are harsh on your system. Not to mention kind of fatty. Try to get all of your fat from things like lean poultry and extra virgin olive oil, and all of your carbohydrates from fresh, vitamin packed veggies, and you'll be doing great!
Last but not least - if you drink at least 6 8oz glasses of water a day (really, its' not as bad as it sounds) it helps you lose weight faster, and plus clears up any skin problems you may have!
Eating 1200 calories a day or less and using these foods (instead of my old standard of pizza or chinese takeout), and getting very minimal exercise such swimming for 45 minutes a couple times a week (which is pretty fun, not like exercise at all!), I've lost 15lbs in 3 weeks! And I feel like I can concentrate better too!
Good luck!

It depends on so many factors -- sex, weight, age, health, how often you have fasted in the past, your activites during the fast..
The main thing to note is that it is not a very good way of losing weight -- you are virtually certain of putting it back on very soon after breaking the fast.

A lot would depend on what you weighed when you started the fast, and your physical activity level during the fast. If your goal is to lose weight, and keep it off, fasting is not a good idea.
Even though food is available easily now, your body is still genetically programed for when people had to hunt their own food, and there were often shortages! When you fast, your body, even if you are overweight, tries to protect itself from starving, and tries to conserve as much fat as it can to allow it to survive. When you end the fast, your body will want to restore the lost weight, and actually add a bit, to "save" itself in case of future shortages.

a lot but u'd be ill and feeling like crap, have no energy, plus u'd gain it all back and then some. When u deprive ur body of food it goes in to starvation mode, then when u start eating again instead of burning all that food quickly ur body stores it is used to being starved so it wants to keep the nutrients and fat incase u starve and need it to survive.

Although you may initially lose weight, your body will go into starvation mode and it is likely that you will end up losing nothing at all.
There is a balance of eating too little and just enough to lose weight. When you eat nothing at all, your body clings to anything it has and doesn't want to shed the extra pounds.
