if your ear gets swollen a few days after getting it pierced?

depends on how it was pierced...I'll assume you mean a lobe-piercing...if it's been over 72 hours, the swelling that is normal should be going down already...but all people react different...don't over-clean the piercing...just wash your hands before touching it when cleaning off that crusty junk and wash in the shower with warm water and maybe a bit of antibacterial soap once a day. If color changes to anything resembling a bruise...either remove the piercing...seek answers at a piercing shop...and also ...make sure you buy good quality "Surgical steel" jewelry...the cheap stuff can make you break out from the impurities in the metal, which will make your ear (or whatnot) look swollen and infected

If your ear is swollen, painful, red and hot/warm to touch it sounds like you might have an infection. Especially if pus comes out of the hole.

If it is a little bit swollen and a bit pink and not very sore, that is normal.

If you think you might have an infection, you had better see a doctor to get some antibiotics and remove the earring.

No it is not a bad thing. Sometimes your ear will swell, just make sure you are keeping it clean and that the earring back is not to tight so that it does not embed into the back of your ear.
