Christians are taught that God will forgive them for ANYTHING they do(including rape, murder child molesting ect.)

Christians are taught that Jesus has already paid the price for their sins(rape, murder, ect) So, that just does away with taking responsibility for your own actions

Christians are taught that no sin is greater than the other. Murder being equal to lying about your age is just some sick thinking

Us Atheists are taught to have a higher standard of behavior because there's no skydaddy telling us we're born bad, if we do bad, Jesus has already paid for it, and God will forgive us for all the dirt. This will make a person want to do bad.

Us Atheists cherish life and treat life well because we know that this is the only life we'll ever have

I don't know what kind of Christians you've just described, because I am a Christian and believe me, God may forgive you for committing sins, but that doesn't give you the green light to do whatever the hell you want! Nuh-huh! On the contrary, my God (Jesus) calls on all of us to be kind, compassionate, good people and to abstain from doing evil at all cost. He forgives us our sins, but doesn't exempt us from punishment....and just so you know, He doesn't punish us, but life does....the rule of cause and effect is clear with all of us Christians....you do the crime, be prepared to pay the price....and if you really repent..then God will forgive you, otherwise...you'll be done.

No, We are taught that if you belive in Jesus through him you will be saved. To Accept Christ into your heart you must be willing to give up flesh desires. Like all those you have mentioned. People who do those things have a possesion of a spirit and are sick. Go into a Jail and ask them how many are Chirstians. You may see a few that has changed thier life around raise thier hand. But probably not the majority. Then try to count the number of Athiests. ( won't be fun ) Even as Christian you can not be sinless God made us an imperfect creation. The only person without sin was Jesus Christ.

Athiests don't always cherish life (YOU) cherish life. I know Athiest who are on needles and such things that You are discriminating about. YOU my dear are trying to Sterio type. When you are talking about People in general and slapping a labble on it. We may as well say this is a war between Cherios and toasted oats.

We, Christians, don't believe that since Jesus died for our sins that we never have to ask for forgiveness, or that we can just go and do anything we want. We have a set of 10 commandments that we must try with all our hearts to follow. Thou shalt not murder is one of those commandments. Also, Christians believe that in order to get into Heaven, they must strive to always live life like it will be the day of their judgement. Christians must strive to live a virtuous life, regardless of the fact that their sins can be forgiven. God forgives because he knows, because of free will, that humans aren't perfect. However, God only forgives if the Christian truly is regretful, and truly wants to be forgiven. It doesn't work if a person goes out and commits some immoral act thinking, "Oh well, I'll just get forgiven for it." God ONLY forgives if the asker truly wants to be forgiven.

I'm not trying to talk bad about any group of people, but in my experience, Christians do have better values and morals on avg. More Christians volunteer, donate, and help others than any other group out there.

That being said, I have known several atheists who are very good, nice people. Just because they don't have a religion that they're dedicated to, doesn't mean they don't have strong moral values.

I do might want to agree which includes your common sense and that i do experience that an atheist has extra ideal values. i do not undergo in options ever reading or listening to contained in the archives the position an atheist replaced into raping toddlers or ironing their youngster-age daughter's boobs. i will locate that information document if mandatory it replaced into very few weeks in the past. the middle East as each and every man or woman properly knows has no atheists and there has been conflict there continuously because both area thinks their god is extra ideal than the different. If there have been to be a conflict between Christians and atheists it must be because the Christians replaced into forcing the fairy thoughts on the atheists. Atheists knows there is not any existence after this one so why tie a bomb on your chest to kill somebody else being it ability you die besides. lack of existence is very last there is not any 2d danger. the position Christians imagine they receives to pass to some large spot after lack of existence. And who knows they could purely be between the 70 virgins that the lads from the middle east receives to have sex with even as they kill human beings. It does no longer say the virgins are lady purely that they get 70 of them to do as they please with. So i imagine i will stay out of church because i'm a good man or woman and do not might want to pretend it wondering i will get to pass some the position it is purely contained in the fairytale. if you're solid you're solid. once you would possibly want to be scared in to it that is pretend. If this god is a real god and knows all it do not remember what you do your options will tell on you. i'm a specialist atheist.

Only God knows what is in the hearts of people. I'm sure there are just as many Atheist who commit just as many sins. We all sin, and all sins can be forgiven, if you truly repent. And in my experience Atheist don't have higher standards of behavior than Christians. I have family (Aunts, Cousin) and even friends who are Atheist, and their children have no respect for anyone, much less their own parents. Atheist think one life to live and gonna live it for themselves and no-one else. I'm sure not all are this way, but the ones I do know I do not care for their attitude towards life or the lives of others.

Dear Friend not all christians think like that.Actually neither christians nor other believers and nay rather none of the humanbeings are free to do everything and think they will be forgiven . Jesus has never announced such things but unfortunately some have made misinterpretations and brought misunderstandings.Jesus has sacrificed His life so that His teachings and princiiples would spread and mankind would manifest the love and peace and unity in their hearts and actions. It would be better if we try to investigate the truth independently and see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears and think with our own mind and have jsutice and be receptive in the heart and the mind:))

Your morality is a personal decision. Someone might use their religion to help them come to a decision regarding a moral dilemma, but what they do in the end will be THEIR decision. Religion or lack of it is not the only factor weighed in the case of a moral issue. The laws in the society in which you live, the way in which you were raised, your own opinions outside of this- they all play a part in your personal morality. Not all Christians or Atheists think about things the same way. That would be impossible. We're all individuals. For the record- I'm a polytheist. Anything iI do will please somebody and piss off somebody else. So it's really up to me to do what I feel is right.

I think there are some interesting rhetorical points embedded..that I also have issues with..

But ultimately I agree with starrwoode here ... besides an assumptive generic "christian" label here ... you also presumptively seem to speak for all "atheists"... like they all have upbringing and values just as yours ...

Ultimately I think you need to put the rhetorical points in an entirely different context- if you want to convey your points with any strengths ... because as they are expressed now- I think they come over as both weak and desultory- even to those who may be inclined to agree with some of your themes ...

I think(just my opinion)... that the strongest part of what you are trying to say is ..."ethics"... if "ethics" are coming straight out of your real self- rather than some written religion, codex or dogma ... that they are much more genuine and real ...that is- they don't need crutches ... like "salvations" or "heavens" ...or intangible promises that can't be "proved" ...so they (ethics) are all the stronger- if they are just from within us ...

But the thing is ... one can have a perspective like that- and not be a "Christian" or an "atheist" ...

Neither, it depends on a persons individual value, no one group can be judged as having more morals or values than the other. Just wait for ppl to answer this question and u will see, the Christians will claim they have more values because they believe in god and atheists are just heathens, and the atheists will say they do because there values and morals are no obtained through the bribery of heaven and eternal peace. In truth we are both as bad and as good as each other and rarely do we wish to admit it.
