Have a look at books by Annabelle Karmel on Amazon, she has great recipe books. Some good ones are variations on: mashed carrots, sweet potato, butternut squash potato and finely grated cheese or cream cheese/creme fraiche mashed avocado & banana combo stewed apple and blueberry (then whizzed in the blender) stewed pear mashed banana I kept small portions of whatever I was cooking aside (cooked with no salt) and put in blender for my kids. When they are able to eat less purreed food just mash with a fork instead.

Baby Food- chicken
I used to make my own baby food when the kids were younger. This was one of their favourites. Gradually, I added garlic powder, onion powder (as they got older), parsley, herbs, ginger, cayenne, cumin. Soon, they were able to eat all the spicy foods that I cooked. This is a good basic recipe even if you're not trying to introduce new flavours, vegetables , etc. Prep time includes the time to bake the chicken. For younger babies, this may be good for 2-3 serivings. For older ones, it would probably be sufficient for one serving. I have recorded it as one serving in this case.
2 teaspoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon unbleached flour
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup chickens, cooked, boned and shredded
1/4 large potato, boiled or baked and cubed
1 tablespoon grated white cheddar cheese or mild cheddar cheese (optional)
vegetables, of your choice (optional)
salt (optional)
1 servings

1. Grill or bake chicken, remove bones and shred.
2. Bake or boil potato and chop into small cubes or mash.
3. Melt butter in a saucepan.
4. Add milk, flour, and cheese and make a sauce.
5. Add chicken and potato to it.
6. Add remaining ingredients.

Just puree whatever your cooking for yourself. As the child gets older leave more lumps in it.

When my brother was a baby hr would never eat anything out of a jar or can, so my Mum would just puree what the rest of the family was having.

Put to boil a regular size potato ang mashed it when it's done. Pour into it the ready milk formula that the baby is using and voila... a tasty and complete baby food!

Blend up some of your meals, make sure the salt content is not high, freeze it in containers and you will always have a ready made meal for your child and know exactly what has gone into it, and won't cost you a fortune.

It really depends on the age and stage of weaning your baby is at. I used to just puree or mash what we were eating as long as it had no salt and nuts etc in. Now she is one she eats what we do cut into small chunks.

Just blend your own food, As long as you eat good healthy food and don't add salt it's fine. Makes me feel good to know that my baby is enjoying the same food as the rest of us.
