When we said we have nothing to lose, it is referring to the circumstances regarding life after death. If there is no God, then it means atheism is right, and we die and that's it. In that sense we are no worse off than the atheist or the ant that got squished. We won't even feel any loss when we're dead!
On the other hand, if we have alive for 70 years and have been Christians for 50 years and discovered that it is false, then sure, there is a sense of loss there. But hey, that's life so we just have to suck it up and take it in our stride. We all make mistakes. We simply have to move on. Sulking won't help. But then again, is the atheist anyway better off? Is he not a fool for trying to live a meaningful life when he KNOWS that life is meaningless? At least the Christian believed that life is meaningful and lived meaningfully while living as a Christian. The atheist however have to go against his belief and try to make sense out of an accidental life. Bottom line is that both will die and that's it. Any comfort or pleasure experienced by the atheist in laughing at the Christian is easily short-circuited by death and other trials of life that plague all humans.
Then again, are Christians making a fool of themselves simply by being Christians even if they are deluded? I don't think so. Many Christians live very fruitful and engaging lives. Sure, talking about God, spending time in church or praying may be "wasted", but would you call money given to the poor, charity shown to others, friendships made, all making a fool of ourselves? I don't think so. And remember, we are only SUPPOSING that Christians are wrong about Christianity. The whole game changes if we are right. If we are right, then atheists are in for a hell of a time. God is good indeed, He knows full well that atheists are just being themselves, rebellious and sinful, scoffing and mocking at their Creator and those who believe in Him. So God in His goodness will let atheists be themselves and allow them the "joy" of reaping the fruit of their choices, an eternity in hell. I don't suppose any rational person will look forward to that, or do you?

haha thats funny. I don't understand why if your a Christian and your husband is cheating on you would just let him. I know that is actually the only reason Jesus gave for a reason to divorce. No one should divorce his wife except for marital unfaithfullness. Also I don't live a trick life. I love my life more now than I ever did when I wasn't a believer. I just wish you could understand the way I understand, but you really can't its like looking at a quilt from the bottom it looks like a big mess with lots of colors, but it doesn't really work, but when your on the other side everything is much clearer and you can see the picture as it is meant to be seen. Also dude God is loving and He is just if salvation didn't depend on His Son coming to earth and dieing a horribly painful death on the cross it wouldn't have been very loving to have Him do it for no reason just think about that, because thats what I thought of when I truly thought about the second part to your question really think about that. If it was necissary then that would be horrible and aewfull to do wouldn't it?

You're right to a degree. If Christianity were wrong, they would have denied themselves "pleasures of sin", suffered wrongfully "persecutions", given their money, time, and devotion to God, all for naught. Indeed apostle Paul agreed with you "If the dead rise not, then we are of all men most miserable..."
But this is really a sign to you all atheists. It is no great evidence that if a Christian's life were all bed of roses, that anyone would put their faith in it. But that despite hardships they keep their faith, doesn't this speak volumes? (Hello, are you deaf?) I mean why, unless it IS true, unless those early apostles REALLY did see Jesus risen from the dead, otherwise why die a tortured death, for a lie? Ask that of Peter who had only denied Him thrice before.
On the other hand, what do "sinners" have? There is pleasure in sin for a season, but the end of it is death... To me the most miserable of all bunch are those Hollywood couples who can't keep a marriage, the drug addict who can't quit, the fearful, the resentful, the hateful... But some of the happiest, most fulfilled people I have known are Christians.
Surveys have shown that people who have the greatest sexual fulfillment are Christians in monogamous relationships... Compare that to someone who has trodden down the path of perversion, that the only thing which excites him only meagerly is pedophilia or... worse.
Your other conclusion is fallacious. If atheists are wrong and God is good, it does not necessarily mean that all will be well... Goodness and justice are not incompatible... neither justice and mercy. "Because" God is good He has provided a way, and that way is Christ and a repented, holy life. Mercy is on His terms... not yours...

First of all, if christians are wrong,it does not mean that their life is a joke, because it has held meaning for them/us. Whether or not you believe, is up to you hence free will. It is my understanding that God will love you anyway, so stop with the negativity. It's all good, if you just let it be good. And by the way, Life is never a joke! It is a gift!

What R U talking about?
Yes, God is good and he forgives - TO PEOPLE THAT ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. He can not forgive you something that you don't ask to forgive you.
And - if you ask than you believe.
Right?
Part 2
And answerer above is completely right about people who heard and didn't believe.
And, for the rest of the people... In Sunday School I was told (because I had same question - what if some one is good, but spend his whole life not knowing about Christ) that to people like that Christ himself will come in their last moment to call them to go with him. And that that people will see things more clearly than we do, because they have less time than we.
And, it was said that everyone will get whаt he believed. So... try to read The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. There are some good answers to your question on Devil's Ball

If living a tricked life means also living a life full of peace and happiness, then it was well worth it.
I live for my beliefs and attain knowledge through that.
God is merciful, but he is just. If you spend your life making a mockery of those who don't mind being labelled as 'fools', don't expect to be welcomed into those pearly gates.
