You don't say whether the test was on otc pregnancy test, a urine test in the doctor's office or a blood test. If it was a urine test, yes, you could still be pregnant as they aren't as sensitve as they lead you to believe....especially since some women's hormone levels are slow to rise. If you had only a urine test, I suggest you contact your doctor for a blood pregnancy test which is far more sensitve. Now, if you had a blood test and it was negative, there is a slim chance you are pregnant but you would need to wait another week then have it rerun if your period has not come. That week will give the hormones a better chance to rise. Any questions, feel free to email me.

There is a reasonable chance you could be pregnant. My first child was a "false negative" when I was about a week late. A second test at two weeks late was positive. Definitely take the test in the early morning with your first pee - otherwise the hormone level being tested may not register accurately early on in a pregnancy.

Good luck either way! And for the record, "false negatives" are wonderful!

Most test are suppose to be able to determine quickly, but that doesn't always mean that it's so.The best thing is to go to a clinic,it should be free, most are, however i would go and get another test along with a regular vaginal check to be positive.By your statement you seem worried about the possibility of being pregnant. No matter what becomes of your final test, just remember if you are, that precious baby didn't ask to be brought into this world and it will need all the love and support that a mother could possibly have to offer.I hope everything works out in your favor though.Best wishes and Good Luck!

Just go to the doctors, they can usually find out earlier than a store baught pregnancy test. And you already have a reason to go to the doctors anyways because of the 6 day delay. Could just be a bladder infection, offten mistakin for being pregnancy. I'm sure you will be fine, just be patient, get things figured out,and stay relaxed!

Sometimes it does take a couple of weeks for a pregnancy test to turn positive if there is the possibility. Try going to your doctor's office as they can give you a serum pregnancy test. It is similar to a blood test and can detect pregnacy hormones that much sooner than the traditional urine pregnancy test. Are you having symptoms such as breast tenderness and fatigue? That could also be premenstual as well. Stress can also cause your period to be late. To be sure, contact your OB/GYN and talk to them about it. Good luck to you.

You're not pregnant. Although false negatives can happen they're really rare and pregnancy tests are very sensitive to positivity. Late periods happen all the time and pregnancy tests should be able to tell as early as two days before you expect your period.

yep too early to take the test. it would be most accurate after at least 10-12 days of delay. and have the test early in the morning; thats the most accurate of all.
