Hmmm...interesting question.
Well, to be honest it's really difficult to generalize, there are different preferences for different people right?
Me, personally?
I think shy guys are adorable, there's nothing more intriguing than a guy who gives out those cute side-glances and sneaky smiles long enough to keep me interested.
Although it would be a skewed perception to say that all outgoing guys are cassanovas, I must say that in my experience many of them expect too much too soon. Ofcourse it all depends on what your definition of outgoing is.
Quite frankly, shy guys are irresistible.
Then again, that's coming from a playagurl...so who knows.

i love outgoing guys!!! usually shy guys are hard to open up and talk to [sometimes]. but on the other hand outgoing guys seem to flirt a lot! which can be bad, especially if it's with a lot of girls. but i go for outgoing b/c they seem more fun... yeah but find a balance.

A combo.
My fiance is outspoken when it comes to standing his ground and he has a great sense of humor. He is generally an extrovert in social situations.
However, he really values personal relationships, and in that way he is shy. Guys that are too outgoing and extroverted can be initially attractive (I'm thinking of a stereotypical frat boy), but after a while the nerves and drama surrounding that type will wear a girl thin.
Most ladies want a man who can handle difficult situations or aspects of life that they don't want to deal with, but they don't want a man to take over their life and dominate like a complete extrovert can do.

shy with a little bit of an outgoing streak on the odd occasion...dont really like over confident guys.

Shy guys suck. But you can't be obnoxiously outgoing. Find a nice balance. Make the first move. Or if she makes the first move don't shy away.

seeing as I'm shy an outgoing guy is better, well ideal, but a shy guy is good too, then we could be all together in our shyness.

a woman likes a man that is a little bit of both. a guy that's outgoing & confident is extremely sexy, but sensitivity and someone that doesn't always know everything - can be such endearing qualities.

dating a shy guy runs the risk of him inhibiting your personality...
however, when dating an outgoing guy, you risk him never being very committed, or being obnoxiously stupid.
it very much depends on the guy, and the girl.
