Become a humanist. Many atheists are also humanists. Or naturalist. I know a few atheists that are also naturalists.

That depends. Do you want to dive in wholeheartedly or take it slow? How serious are you? Zen and Thervada Buddhism don't actually require belief in a higher power, so maybe you could start with that. They require belief in other things, like a soul, however. Taoism is another one to consider. The Tao is more like the Force in star wars than any deity, and it's main commandment is to behave according to your nature.

Then there's Deism- the belief that there is a god but that's about as far as it goes.

Now if, instead of one or no gods, you want lots of gods- I highly reccommend this outlook. You might want to consider some kind of reconstructionism, be it Asatru, Celtic, Greek, or whatever. This involves the worship of gods of a historical culture according to the ways of that culture, to the best of our ability. Pros: many gods means you can always find one you like. Worshippers of other gods are not necessarily wrong, so you don't have to fight about it (unless you think it's fun and they're being a jerk) The fact that there is a lot of research and work involved in such a path makes it good for studious, thinking people.

And just for fun- there's always atheistic Satanism. This is the variety put forth by the Church of Satan, and a few others. The idea is not to worship Satan, but to value his example as a concept, and to become a god yourself.

I don't make a good missionary. The important thing is to decide what is true, and find the doctrine that embodies that truth for you.

If you doubt there is a god then you are not a true atheist. an atheist does not believe in god. Period. Now i know that religions are confusing but think not as religions per say think of the truth. And see the hypocrisy of those whom supposedly preach then you come to light. that Most preachers are after Your money. God does not care if you do not have any money at all. The word of god are FREE!!! And no preacher that comes to you or you go to his place will ever I repeat ever ask you to give them money OFFERINGS they will tell you to help the POOR, Help the widows, the orphans, Help a person In need they will not pass around a plate and tell you to give. Period end of subject. Be aware of the wolfs.

Believe in yourself. I won't try to influence you for believing any kind of religion. Think carefully, do you believe in higher being eg:God? Do you believe in after life eg:heaven/hell? What kind of theological traits of religions you are looking for/ feels comfortable? What about your parent view and your family tradition? Base on this question, you can do some research on religions and from there you can draw your own conclusion.

If you, after going through all the questions above and still can't believe in any of the religious theological BS, then I welcome you as an atheist. It's great to be an atheist. Being an atheist doesn't means that you are immoral. It just means that we don't believe in god. That's all. And we don't need "carrot and stick" to maintain our moral ethic.

p.s : Atheist is not a religion. Its a free state of mind that view the world untainted by religion.

Would you like a cookie? It doesn't really matter, despite current world events, they all preach love, peace, and all that happy stuff. Make a spinwheel and go with whatever it lands on. It doesn't really matter because you'll go to hell anyway. Why? Because according to every religion, if you're not a member then you go to hell, so if you're Christian, then according to the Muslims you go to hell, and vice versa. Sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Just enjoy life, be a "good" human being, and hope that in the end, the religion you chose doesn't matter as much as how you lived.

If you want to change your ways, which I believe you better, you need to be enlightened about the one and only true God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). You could visit a Baptist Church to learn the truth if you can handle the truth. Don't go to a catholic church because they are idol worshipers - statues, graven images of God on the cross, etc., etc. They are taught that they can get to Heaven by their works but if we could work our way to Heaven, what was the purpose of Jesus' death? We can never outdo His sacrifice. Being an atheist is the most gambling way to go because you don't believe in anything. Wow! If you die tomorrow, where will your soul spend eternity? I pray that you will not die until you get to know the Lord on a personal basis. Yes, if you can handle the truth, go to a Baptist Church and learn. May the Lord Jesus shine His light for you to see. By the way, Christianity is not a religion; it is a personal relationship with Jesus but you have to learn about Him and I am telling you where you could go to get to know Him. Also, read your King James Bible (first English translation). Amen. Thank you for your question.

It sounds like you are asking a "what if question", whereas a lot of people seem to think you are asking seriously. If you are asking seriously you are not an atheist you are an agnostic. Its what I am and what I would recommend to anyone. Its for open-minded people. I respect many hard-line atheists (I married one) but I think personally its just ridiculous to think you know whats next, theres a complete evidence vaccuum. Agnostisism is not saying "I dont care", its saying "I dont know".
You cant just "pick" a religion, its not like picking a pair of shoes, something would have to leap out at you. My dad "picked" being a born again christian (after trying many other religions) and decided he liked it because it fit most with what he wanted to do anyway, rule the roost with his wife, have LOTS of babies and not go to work. He says he hears the voice of god and puts "disciple" on his social services form under occupation. Not saying thats what all born again christians are like, my dad is nuts.
Keep your open-mind, its precious.

I was an atheist... and I became a pagan. Or was I always a pagan without knowing...
I kept saying that I didn't believe in god, just in nature, the sun and the moon. About 2 years ago, I found that's exactly what paganism is about: the earth goddess, the green man, the love and respect of nature... So really, I just put a name on my long held beliefs.
Good luck in your search!

I am biased as well. I am a Christian. I didn't really know much about God until College, but I always believed there was one just I wasn't ever sure who He was or what to believe. I started going to chruch with my cousin who talked me into going and I fell in love with the God that they spoke of the free gift that He offered us and the love that He showed and also the love that my cousin showed me in everyday living he was always there to help in times of trouble. I say it can't hurt to try out Christianity I like it. If you don't want to go to a church just start reading the bible and see what you think. I would suggest one of the gospells so either Mark, Matthew, Luke, or John if you haven't read them yet. Other than that pray about it. I know you aren't sure what God is the right God, but that is something everyone has to choose at one point, but if you are trying to figure out who He is and your asking Him for help I think He will try to help you find him. God bless and good luck.(if you have any questions about Christianity email me I would love to share more with you)

Well, if you are specifically looking to change your ways, then I would suggest a missionary religion. Buddhism is something that a lot of people find very helpful when tyring to change their lives. It wouldn't interfere with your atheism either, as it embraces all other belief structures and doesn't conflict with them.
