Hmmmm...tough question. I can see them debating philosophical ideas, but I don't think either would actually get into a physical confrontation. They would probably just agree to disagree.

Lao Tzu would kick both of their butts! lol j/k (I'm Taoist so I'm bias)

Buddha is not really a person but rather a state of mind, so therefore, Confucious would win, Confucious would also win against the man who started the study of Buddhism although Bodhisatva was a prince and might have special military training. Oh and I think Buddhism is the most spritual and philosophical religion on the planet to my knowledge.

Buddhism is more spiritual and confuses is more philosophical.

I don't know what type of battle you are talking about. For there to be a battle, both should play the same game - you can't have a battle between football and basketball ya ?

They are different from each other and cannot be compared. Thinking is different.

If you are talking about a Physical battle, don't waste your energy thinking of it - it will never happen - because non believed that violence is the way out !

Interesting question...but its futile at the same time.

Buddha is the basis of all buddhist teaching. He was a nobleman who was dissatisfied with his way of life, who wandered until he found enlightenment. He gave the world, the 4 noble truths, the middle path, etc.

Confucius applied Buddhist teaching in a societal manner. He told "proverbs" and anecdotes using Buddhist thought to explain to people following a path that he was already on.

Neither of the two would claim to be more spiritual, or philosophical, nor would they claim the other to be. Honestly, by Buddhist teaching, they would only acknowledge each other as being on the path to enlightenment. To do otherwise would be a conceit, which is against the path to enlightenment. Furthermore, neither would "do battle" with each other. It would be a violation of their way of life, to interfere with the path of another willfully or maliciously.

I think Confucius would win. He was more like Kwai Chang Kane you know? Of course if Buddha got a hold of him first then he would win. That's what they say anyhow. Once a wrestler gets ahold of a boxer the battle is over.

Buddah can't even move and Confucius is always confused! So they wouldn't even know how to start!

I guess Jesus wins cause He made them and only they choose to believe what they believe!

Zen the Great.
Then Buddha.
And, well---Confucius is probably still asleep under the tree.

confucius is a male chauvinist pig...what do you think, then? *giggle*
confucius practises character building in self-discipline & self- restraint.
the buddha practises compassion & loving- kindness.
hence, they will not be spar with each other in the 1st place.
