She'll become increasingly restless. She'll possibly pace from room to room, and eventually pick a place to give birth, and not move from the spot she picks. She might start whining too, and pant alot. When you see her straining and pushing, she's contracting, and the first puppy is soon on it's way. Make sure that when she delivers her puppy's, that you help remove the sack off the puppy. She will eat the sack, so let her do this, since it provides a natural source of immunization for the puppies when they nurse. Also, keep alot of towels handy, because it is going to get messy and wet.

Most dogs go 60 days give or take a day. She will start nesting a few days before for a place where noone hardly comes and goes. Thats basically where she will stay until she delivers. Make sure she has bedding that is easily cleaned. When you see her panting straining or biting at her flanks, she may even vomit. The puppies will soon arrive. When you take her out at night take a flashlight the straining when she goes to the bathroom can make the puppies come. Ive been through this before she knows what she is doing just keep an eye on her for complications. Little tip dont let her eat the placenta it can cause diareha, the sac is fine the puppies will need the nutrients she gets from it.We breed mastiffs and it is all up to mom she knows what to do it is instinct, Good Luck and keep me posted please I would like to know if everythng goes ok.

you should all ready know this befor breeding. if you didnt your beeing very irrisponsible. any way.
you vet can give you a rough date from an ultra scan.
just befor whelping (birth) she will become restless and will want to to build a nest (you should have a whelping box) and she will produce milk not long befor she starts. she will pant more and may refuse food.
i hope you know what to do during the birth is she has problems like
breached birth (puppie in the wrong positins and most likley will get stuck).
still borns.
birth defects with the pups.
not traring the cord herself.
contractions not being strong enough.
refusing to care the pups or she dies.
not probucing enough milk.
if she contract an infection after bue to an afterbirth being left in.
and may more.
if you do know all of this then GOOD LUCK if you dont then you better get studing.

i breed german shepherds and from past experience when our dogs are ready to give birth they will go and find a place away from everyone.. like under the house or someplace where they wont be near anyone. what we do is we have a special whelping shed where our dogs give birth.. so every night a few weeks before shes gonna give birth we let her sleep in it so she gets used to that area. also try and have a space the baby puppies can get under coz sometimes the mother can lay on her own puppies.. i hope this helps

The First sign is she will be hiding alot and looking for places (ex. closets, corners, and other quiet places) This is called nesting. Then she will start panting. When her temperature drops to 99 degrees F, labor will begin in 10 to 24 hours. She will also begin to lick her self a lot. I hope I helped and good luck

she will be licking her vagina a lot.. and she will be looking for a comfortable place to give birth.. secluded, and private.. if she has a kennel.. put her there. otherwise an old blanket in the corner of your closet will be good. if this is your first experience.. try not to bug her.. even if she has never had puppies she will know what to do. try to stay out of her face.

She will make like a nest with her toys, etc. Mine took a towel, toys, & my socks. She would not come out. I had to take her to vet about 5 hrs later. She had a bad time, 1 puppy turned wrong. Good Luck!
