I know you know it was a parable He almost always spoke in parables, but by the time that happened Peter to whom He was talking had been with Jesus for a long time this was after his resurection and before his assention. So Peter had been with Him and knew His teaching. Peter also knew of Christ's death and resurection he knew the gospell. That is what Jesus meant to be the food. Hey you can email me anytime I would love to talk with you about this kind of thing you ask good questions.

human r human. why compare us w sheep?is dat how a God supposed to say?in fact, i believe, Jesus never said dat.
"I hope that Christians will find that there is yet i hope for the wayward conditions that prevail over the bulk of Christendom. The answers to Christian problems are not to be found with the Christians themselves, for they are, in most instances, the root of their own problems. Rather, Islam is the solution to the problems plaguing the world of Christianity,as well as the problems facing the so-called worldof religion as a whole. May Allah guide us all and reward us according to the very best of our deeds and intentions."
-an excerpt from a priest who converted to Islam

He modeled it when he washed feet. Feet in the ancient hebrew culture are the second nastiest part of the body. The lowest of the servants was the one stuck with washing feet.
Jesus showed what humility was, and then said if you are mine, you will wash each others feet. Its not literal, its meaningful, and thats what feeding his sheep is like.
Do you know where the cultural idea of people being sheep came from?

What GOD actually said was "If Thou Love Me Then See That My Flock Is Fed." We humans are his flock, NOT his sheep and he means for us to love and take care of each other. The first to heed this was his own son, who, with God's help, preformed the miracle of feeding hundreds of people with just a few "loaves of bread and a handful of fishes". Hope this helps.

I think Jesus is referring to "feeding his sheep" in symbolic terms. More towards spiritual truths, in other words feeding spiritual food to his people or sheep or followers. Remember he fead physical food to thousands out of one piece of bread and fish on his sermon on the mount, thats not a problem for him.

I don't want to offend you but use your common sense! and if god said that there's a hidden meaning in it, don't just look at it by word! put it in your mind and think whats the meaning of it! and excuse me I'm not a farmer so i cannot answer your question about whats the favorite food of a sheep. but i think their favorite food is fresh grass! isn't it?

Galatians 5:25 "if we live in the Spirit, Let us alwos walk in the Spirt."
1Peter 5:2-3 " Shepherd the flock of God which is amoung you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain by eagerly; (3) nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."
1Timothy 4:1 "let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the blelievers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
He did tell us how to 'lure' the sheep to the 'food' and the answer is through our examples. in the way we live our lives. there's an old saying 'preach the gospel and if nessecary use words'. the best way to show God's wonderful 'food' to other people is if they see us eating it ourself. live out loud, live for Christ with all you have, disregaurding all the worries of what people think and remembering that what He thinks is so much more important.
ya want to lure people to God's Word? let them see it in your life, actions speak louder than words. so what are you saying to those watching?

The scripture is not speaking about the physical but the spiritual. It is saying feed the people who believe in me and keep my commandments on the milk and meat of the Word.
