Why are there so many Pro-War Christians in America? To be a Right-Wing American is almost synonymous with being Christian and Pro-War. Is Jesus happy about that? That being the killing of all those little arab babies in the search for WMD?

Of course, I enjoy the Freedoms that America has...but I'm not Christian. There's nothing in my belief system that contradicts America kicking some @$$ after the 9-11 attack. But Christians are soo damn into LOVE...I mean aren't they into that whole "turn your shoulder" concept?

Man, reading this thread is crazy...some Christians are saying it's bad (Jesus doesn't like it)...it's a shortcoming of man; while some are saying Jesus is okay with innocent babies dying because groups like Hezbollah should have cared more for their own people. Of course, those Christians are going to hell (gbeckgurrl, CEM, and Oblivia). Actually, Oblivia's going to hell for being a dumb@$$...

"I have not heard any reports of little Arab babies being killed. We are not at war with Arabia. As usual, you are an uninformed liberal. Get your facts straight before you start making all liberals look bad"

Oblivia, You need to get YOUR facts straight. There are 22 ARAB States: including Lebanon AND Iraq.

G_d desires that no man should perish.

I can't imagine Jesus being "happy" because of any war. Man is evil therefore we have wars. We have the ability to live peacefully with one another, but we choose not to do so.

War is a horrible fact of life.

I'm not pro-war, and I am a conservative Christian. However, I also think that it is a mistake to let ourselves be bullied around by terrorists. I do not like the fact that we are at war, but I do support the troops of men and women that are willing to give their lives so that we all can have the freedoms that we enjoy in our country, one of which you yourself are enjoying in writing your question... FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Jesus, I'm sure, would not be happy about the war, but do you think that he was pleased with the 9/11 attacks? What about all of the other attacks that have been perpetrated all around the world by terrorist organizations? Do you NOT think that THEY need to be stopped?

I have not heard any reports of little Arab babies being killed. We are not at war with Arabia.

As usual, you are an uninformed liberal. Get your facts straight before you start making all liberals look bad.

Out here in the Midwestern US, a lot of people think that it was wrong of George Bush to take back his statement about our activities in the middle east being a 'crusade.' Many truly feel that it IS a crusade--they think all Muslims want jihad, and they are answering the call with their own holy war. Some of them literally believe that a holy war is happening and that it's right to fight it.

I have heard more than a few say they wish the entire Middle East was just one big parking lot... and that's how they think the US should leave it.

Don't ask me where the mercy is in that... I don't know. This is just what I have gathered from listening to such people.

If you've ever read the Bible, you know that God doesn't have a problem with killing and war when it is necessary. Not because he is a vengeful or hateful God, but because He does not value our lives on earth as we do. He ordered the killing of many pagan tribes, including the women and children, so that decent people could live in peace. Isn't it apparent that Right-WIng, Christian Americans are pro-war so that decent people today can live in peace? Hezbollah, Al-Quaeda, Hamas, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Iran, Syria, etc. have brought this hell upon themselves and their people through their own hatred and constant harrassment of Jews and Christians. If the people of Lebanon did not want this hell to rain down on them they should have rid their country of the scourge that is Hezbollah. To us civilian casualties are tragic. To them, maybe to you, killing babies is victory.

U really do have a point, im part of the war and i take out lives, im also a christian, and im also a US citizen and i will fight for my country because i feel that even if the Us was wrong in all this, its better for us to be the overbearing and powerful nation, in order to make us citizens look and realize past the fascade of things and to give the majority a sense of security, when evil strikes our shores. I see us as a key part in revelations, and whether its for right or wrong us being in the middle east, its fate

They are false Christians. Jesus taught his followers that God's friends would have love among themselves. -(John 13:35) We do not kill people we love. Only false religion teaches it is right to kill others in times of war. So to answer your question, of course Jesus is not happy about anyone being killed, especially the innocent children.

hello, i really don't know what pro war Christians is suppose to be , but i can tell ya that a true born again christian is not, and no god is not pleased with the murder of these innocent kids, and when these people meet there destiny they will appear before an angry god and will give account , there blood will be required to their hands, so they will stand accountable for these crimes...and "except you be born again, ye shall not enter in" take gods word and read and apply it to your life, get your eyes off what is going on around you and pray...

You seem to have your terms confused. I don't know of any Christian who is "pro-war" in the sense that they want to see warfare and people killed. But if you are asking how a Christian can support our government taking action against a murderous regime like Saddam's who gassed his own people among other atrocities, and his sons who had "rape rooms" where they would haul in innocent women and have their way with them, I would draw your attention to this passage from the Bible.

"Let every soul submit to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God. Consequently the one resisting the authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and those opposing shall receive judgment to themselves. For rulers are not a fear to good works, but to evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority? Do what is good, and you shall have praise from the same. For he is God's servant to you for good. But if you do evil, fear; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's servant, an avenger for wrath to the one practicing evil. Romans 13:1-4

God uses nations to bring down other nations that are ruled by evil men.

There is such a thing as a just war. However Iraq was not a just war. It is sad many Christians have fallen prey to political secular ideology. They follow Caesar instead of Christ.

You have found the contradiction! Very good! Now what? There are so many "blind faith" hypocrites that refuse to listen to what anyone has to say, how do you propose to stop them?

The (Christian) Bible is riddled with violence and contradiction. Funny thing, these so-called "Christians" don't seem to catch on. It's like they are addicted to some drug or something!
