i know cost is not something that i should base my decision on, but i know that some breeds cost $1000 and up. i love the grace that the dog has and people say that they are nice dogs.

go to petfinders.com....this is a site for rescue groups....just put in your zip code, and be AMAZED at how many choices you have !!....i adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them, and my dog Sylvester is wonder full....check it out....adopt a dog....do a good deed....good luck to you !!

I would guess average is maybe 400-600.
I believe there is a link to rescue on the American Whippet club website.

Why don't you check into a whippet dog rescue. I'm sure there's one around you and they won't charge you an arm & a leg.

it's very variable, partly people charge anywere from $1,550 to $300 for a pet. $700-800 is probably about average
