Most definitely. Hey, even without a washer/dryer, you could probably use a sink somewhere and hang things out, should you need to. I did it with socks.
A friend of mine was going to be traveling overseas for quite some time and she bought what she described as disposable underwear - cheap and she could just toss them. I've also heard of people mailing clothes home after wearing them.
Even the picture thing - if you have solid color bottoms especially (pants, shorts, skirts, whatever) who is going to know? Be able to mix and match.
I got pretty good with this - went on a trip to Hawaii with a large group over Thanksgiving (basketball tournament) and the person that delivered my luggage was astounded I only had one bag! And you know, if you're doing public transportation especially, or don't have some kind of home base, you REALLY don't want to lug around a big bag of clothes. I know you know that, but felt a need to put it out there...
Have tons of fun!

You almost have to as the luggage weight limits have become very restrictive. I'm taking 3 pants, 5 tor 6 tops & 2 jackets for two weeks in Australia & New Zealand - not happy about it, but they only allow one 40 pound check in bag on domestic flights. All knit, which I hate, but you can handwash them & the dry quickly. By the time you add shoes, underwear, sleepwear, socks, toiletries, meds, etc., you've got 40 pounds. One of the domestic flights only allows a 7 pound carryon, so the extra stuff also has to go in the check in bag.

Never underwear except for bras, but usually I will wear a pair of jeans or a skirt up to 3 times depending. I personally can't stand wearing the same shirt more than once, though.
If I'm not sweating too much (depending on location and time of year), I will wear the same pajamas a few times, too.

Your GOAL should be to repeat your clothes, as often as possible, in as many guises as possible! A catalog like TravelSmith will show you (for free) how to create an entire weeklong wardrobe with a half-dozen packable mix-and-match pieces. Take their ideas and apply to the clothes you already own.
