There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Love is happiness. Any kind of love. And different kinds of love bring different kinds and amounts of happiness as well.

Romantic love is one that most people (myself included) think brings the most happiness. To feel like someone makes you happy overall even on the worst days, that is love. Sometimes if my husband and I fight, I feel like at the worst part of it I am still so much happier than I would be without him. And I feel like that's love.

And love is also acceptance. I think that when you find true love you have to really know a person inside and out. You have to accept and love their faults and every last thing about them. Sure, stuff is going to bug you but overall you just adore a person.

It's so personal for everyone. I think everyone experiences love in a different way - this is just the way it is for me.

Love is when I want to put his needs before my own. It's when he smiles, and it instantly lifts my spirits just to know that he's happy. It's when he touches me, and my heart busts with pride, b/c I know that our passion is true love. Not just two bodies intertwined, but two spirits.

True love is blinding, and surreal. It's forgiving, understanding, and kind. Material possessions and petty mishaps don't even matter. Love wants not for anything but the companionship of him, the man that holds my heart gently in his hands.

"to have a strong affection or deep tender feelings for somebody or something"

Love is patient, understanding, caring, knowing and accepting one for who he/she is.
