What if you wanted to get married and it had been ten years since you started seeing each other? What if it was a wonderful relationship but your christian background made it very hard to be satisfied and you felt the need to refrain from sex altogether? This is not fair to me or my partner. I have offered to end the relationship but he gets very sad everytime I mention this. I am so tired of trying to understand what I should do.

i know what you mean i do understand and yes its hard isnt it. but unless he is willing to marry there is nothing to do. if you love him that much you will stand by him. otherwise move on from this and just stay friends. this article has some good reading on this sort of thing that may help you more

I would end it. You guys can still remain friends. There's nothing in the book that says you guys can't. If you want to get marry and he doesn't you owe it to yourself to be happy. But this is me. You should do what you feel is right. I would not date anyone for ten years. Two years is my limit. If my boyfriend can't decide if I'm wife potential or not after two years, there is no hope for us. I would feel as if I being drug along.
