A doctor at a sleep disorders clinic told me that he has a program that will help people like you(and me) with this very problem. The thing is, you have to have the desire to be "re programed" into a morning person.

He said that it can be done, but since I can't imagine myself as a morning person, I declined to go through his program. You can probably do a search on sleep disorders and find some suggestions, though.

Like you, I don't even get going good until late afternoon. By evening, I'm roaring and ready to get things done. As you said, it can create huge problems with other family members who like to live more conventional lives. Since you have small children, it would most likely greatly enrich their lives if you could find a solution and convert to a morning person.

It's almost 1:30am here, and I'm not even thinking about bed yet. The good thing is that I'm older than you, so I don't need as much sleep. I have to get up by 8:00 or 9:00am, because my old bones won't allow me to lay in bed any longer.

I guess that is one thing that you can look forward to. As you get older, you will need less sleep and it won't affect you as much as it is now. Hope you find a solution!

I have the same problem! I go to bed around 10:00, but I am up a few hours later, then go back to bed, then have to get up w/ my 12 month old daughter. This has been ongoing since I could feel her move in my tummy! She, too, has been sleeping ALL night since two months, so I don't know what's going on.

Anyway...I asked this question and was suggested Melatonin, which can be found at your local pharmacy by the vitamins. It's an all natural herb to enhance sleep. Take one, just to see if it works for you, before you wish to go to sleep at night. It works for me, on the nights that I remember to take it. Sweet Dreams!

i think its abt developing a healthy sleep ritual...thr r few things u can do...1. try exercising in the day (not just before sleeping..would be counter-productive) so that your body feels exhausted...2. donot smoke or have caffeine (=coffee/tea) after early evening...3. go to the bed at the same time for a few days...don't change this time too much even if you are having trouble sleeping at first...4. if there is smthing which is making you worry, avoid thinking abt it....really sleep is for dreams not worries...hope u get ur sleep back soon!

Try reading, or listening to some light music, or lighting up some aroma that help relaxing eg. lavander and valerian, or drinking a glass of warm milk.

If those slight alterations don't work, try some herbal remedies, you can probably find a whole bunch of them in the drugstores, or go to your doctor and have some prescription insomnia drugs.

What's more is to avoid caffeine eg. tea, coffee and cola, also avoid watching tv or the computer right before bed cos they excite your eyes!!
Hope that helps :)

2)Drink until you pass out

3) have a friend hit you on the head... but not too hard.

4)Watch PBS

Usually reading in bed helps you feel tired. As it does for me. Strangely enough, watching TV in bed also tires me out. Try reading. Also, a bit of lavender oil on your pillow should sooth your sleep. Try it :)

ur mind is probably to busy to let you sleep, you need to think about just one thing, like counting sheep but that's no fun, lay in bed and sing a song in ur head, or writing helps me too, a poem, what u did that week, or just feelings, good luck to ya.
