In California, there IS a minimum age. At 16 or 17 you can have a car titled in your name alone, as long as you have a drivers license. At 18 or older, you can have a car titled in your name without a drivers license.

You can be on the title, along with someone else, younger than 16, but not by yourself.

You must be of legal age to enter into a contract, and unless you are handed the title by a family member (which I personally would not do with a minor) I am not so sure that you could buy a license plate for it without a parents name too.

Each state may see things differently however and allow it,

There's no minimum age. I've seen cars retitled in the name of a minor child, during nasty divorce settlements.

I don't think there's a restriction on car ownership; merely on the age at which you can operate one. Check your local DMV to be sure, though.

my wife is preggo the kids name will be bob he will be born in 3 months i can give him a car now and put it in his name
and since he is a minor i can sell it in 2 months and sign his name all this before he is even born
