Can you also tell me how you know all of this information? Reading answers to military questions, it seems as though people who have never served have all kinds of answers. Just let me know where you get your info so I can have as much knowledge as you. I know there is a question mark at the end and it is a statement. Yahoo leaves the question mark.

Just to let you know, I have been in the Army for 9 years. Those of you that have had family in the military and are trying to help other make an informed decsion are not the ones I am talking about. I am talking about the ones who talk about the military as if it were the worst thing on Earth. I also can not stand the ones who talk about the military as if we were uneducated and there is nothing else in life that we could do. Thanks for the answer so far.

I guess you just have to laugh it off...many are so stupid they are comical. I understand how you feel though...it's frustrating when one of these "authorities" gives out info and others believe it. One way to deal with it that may amuse yourself and others, is get a little notebook and everytime you hear one of these gems about the military, write it down. You'd probably get a laugh once the book is full and you read through it. Here's one to get you started...when I was in H.S. and considering enlistment there was a widely circulated "fact" about green berets (special forces). The story was that they pulled all their teeth and implanted sharpened steel teeth so they could tear their enemy to shreds in hand to hand combat lol....you'd be amazed at how many 16 yr olds believed it.

My husband has been in the Military for twenty years, and I have been married to him for almost nine of those years, so a lot of information is what I have learned from him over the years, and if there is question on here concerning the military that I don't know the answer to, but think he might, I'll ask him. Especially if i think it would be something helpful for the person asking. I would never leave an answer on here that I wasn't sure about. Now anything to do with Military families, moving, medical, overseas living, and stuff like that, I'm qualified to answer because I'm a Military wife that has dealt with all of those issues. Unlike most jobs, military life affects the whole family and we're all pretty involved.

It sort of sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder. You know the truth and they don't. How does that affect you? Probably the same way I am affected when I check out the car problem questions and see all the lame answers from people who know nothing about cars. Facts are facts and they can't be changed. There are many people out there who think they know it all but in reality they don't. I don't claim to know much of anything but I have enough sense to not pretend I do just for 2 stupid points. Just because they write stupid untruths doesn't change what you know to be true. Just remember that and forget what others say. I don't know if I am right on this or not it just seems like you have had enough of it or something. My guess would be that you are or were military and seen your fair share and you hate it when people talk about something they know nothing about, especially something you take pride in.
I have never served in the armed forces. I was ready at 17 but had a change of heart at 18, was back at the recruiter at 33 but just couldn't justify it with a wife and a child now. I know a fair share about the military but the only thing I will boast in is as follows: My Dad:WWII, 28th div, bloody bucket, entered Europe via Omaha beach and faught everywhere. Finished in the 3id, discharged 1948, still alive and lives with me.
My brother:Vietnam, .45 in his stomach, don't tell anyone what you have seen or you will die. ptsd but functions in a normal life and is my favorite riding partner dirt or street. Has an IQ higher than most.
My brothers son: currently in Iraq, sorry, I just realized I don't even know what div he is in. Out of Ft. Lewis.
My son: currently 3id, E-6, two tours in Iraq, second tour was personal security to General Horst 3rd div commander. will graduate from drill instructor school Aug 29 Ft Benning, I will be there. He has told me things I wouldn't tell his mother.
Me: sorry, no military just CRT (S.W.A.T.) currently, as an extra duty to my job. The proffession I am in is para-military, law-enforcement in nature. Why did I write all this? I don't know, I think maybe I felt it would give you some insight to where a few people might be coming from no matter how misguided their answers, or mine for that matter, might be. Hope it was insightful.

a million) This isn't a query two) I think every person makes errors, you simply occur to make one on the mistaken position and mistaken time. that does not make you a nasty man or woman through amy method. I won't get on right here and speak approximately how unworthy you're considering i do not know you. All i do know is what you acknowledged and that was once you got an OTH. That isn't whatever that persons on this component to yahoo reply might suppose tremendously of. so significantly what did you count on. You DID do whatever mistaken and now you must reside with the penalties. Just considering you've got been success up to now does not imply that each and every factor is gravy. i suppose it'll trap as much as you sooner or later (MY OPINION), however such as you stated handiest god recognize. But for you to sit down up right here and act like what occur will NEVER impact the results of your profession is a bit naive. I desire you the pleasant and expectantly your well success keeps.

I think it's funny to hear the student's point of view of Iraq especially knowing they have never been there.
