First of all the phrase "Son of God" can never be true, as God is not a human being, He is the supreme soul. If anybody has to be his Son, then all human beings are sons and daughters of God.

God has no son. Why would he need a son when He is almighty omnipotent? Well, even if He has a son, Jesus, then how come Jesus took food, drank water to live on? why Jesus sleeped & took rest while God doesn't need any rest? As God is all-powerful then Jesus should have got some power as a son, but no, he was killed by people, couldn't even saved himself. Your question makes sense tho, why one son? Why not two or more when God can do anything? Why no daughter?
The truth is God is one, All-powerful all-Creator. Having a son like humans is disrespectful for God.

"son of" doesn't LITERALLY man a "son". It means to have a close relationship or to be a part of something. In Jesus' case, he has a close relationship w/ God, because he is a Part of the holy trinity(God). Jesus Christ is the only "begotten" son of God...meaning that jesus wasn't created, but came forth from god.. as for Buddha and the muslim God...they are not "sons" of God...because they have no relation to Christianity.

Mohammed was a prophet. Allah is the only god in Islam - there are no permutations of god in Islam.
Buddha was just a dude who figured it all out. There is no god in Buddhism.
Judaism only has one god, who comes before all other gods, which is odd, for a religion with only one god...
The only religious figure, outside of the old pagan faiths, perhaps, to claim to be a son of a God is Christianity.

There are actually quite a few sons of God that have been recognized in many cultures from the Hindus to the Aztecs. In fact there are 17 "saviors" of monotheistic religions alone that share virgin births and resurrections. ALL of them were recognized as sons of one god or another before Jesus Christ.
The closest to Jesus was Apollonius of Tyana. He was born just a few years after Jesus, but began his ministry before Jesus was baptized by John and became an active rabbi. The story of Jesus in the Bible is almost an exact replica of the ministry of Apollonius. Virgin birth, miracles, power over nature, resurrection, ascension to Heaven, crucifiction, returned as a spirit... Just about everything in the Jesus story was done by Apollonius first.

Jesus is the only son of God. Those others mentioned are "prophets" that religions choose to worship as their own god.

this is for Iceman4Christ , maybe you should read and study more the Quran, in your answer you just picked only one verse of the surah and not other surah which explains there is only one God that is ALLAH and Isa al MAsih(Jesus ) is only a prophet and there is no way trinity in the Quran.so if i can advise search and think before you write, you think your answer are all correct ? do you consider as a God that knows everithing ? if not u better shut it!becareful with your statement otherwise a lot of people would be offended !think twice or even more before u act!!

No they are not. Jesus The Christ who walked among the people of earth over 2000 years ago was, and is, God's only begotten Son on Earth. Jesus was both fully man, and, most importantly, He was also Fully God.... dont try to figgure it out no one else has yet in this mortal world... and do'nt believe any one who says they have.
I know this to be fact. But telling how I know is not that easy...but the fact that I know it is fact do'nt mean I know how God pulled it off... I make a shot at explaining how I know what I know in my testimony if you care to read.
This is my testimony of my first day of the Christian Faith. also on my website I go into The Trinity which is part of the explination for the Fully God / Fully man statement.

First we need to ask ourselves what these religious leaders thought and spoke about themselves and who they claimed to be. Who they themselves claimed to be should take priority over what their followers or others think they were.
In the NT, Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, which is also a claim to deity. Jesus also claimed to do what only God can do, and He also accepted the worship of others that was wholly reserved for God. And to top it off, Jesus rose from the dead which vindicated His claims and His purpose on earth. After His resurrection and ascension His followers continued to spread the Good News that Jesus is God-incarnated who died for our sins. Many boldly preached Jesus even if it meant persecution and death.
To my knowledge no other religious founder make such a claim for himself.
