To your second question, MANY people breed for the love of the breed. Most hobby breeders put most of their time and money into their dogs. Most work to be able to breed. Breeding puppies WELL is expensive. Of course, ANYBODY can throw 2 dogs together and breed crappy puppies.
Its only about the cash for SOME people.

Responsible breeding is *never* to be done for profit. Read up on your ethics. After you pay for all of the vet bills required to do the job right, and pay for equipment, certifications, and registrations, split the price up between a couple of puppies (which you will probably have with a pug), and you will find out very quickly that you can *not* do it right AND make a profit. No one is going to pay $4,000 for your puppies, I'm sorry...

Every responsible breeder breeds for the good of the breed. Most of them don't make a profit, they simply love dogs and are looking for that elusive "perfect dog", the one they can take to the show ring and win BIS right from Puppy 6-9. That's what makes someone eligible to breed dogs. Anything else and you are simply a backyard breeder looking for a buck. Shame

You don't know what you're talking about - breeding dogs PROPERLY is not a very profitable business - between vet bills, proper food, checkups, vet emergencies, etc, you won't make much money.
It makes me so mad how people who don't know anything about breeding want to jump in there just to make a buck, when there are hundreds of thousands of homeless dogs in North America (including pugs).

I'd say fawn pugs for sure. Are you really going to breed pugs??? I love them, they're so adorable! How much would you sell them for?

How sad that you are wanting to breed to make a profit and not for your love of the breed itself
