To many are just looking for the points. And answer with whatever gibberish comes to mind. Others have no real hardcore beliefs of there own and try and ridicule the people who are looking for serious answerer's. the rest are just immature and shouldn't be allowed to answer any questions until they grow up.

Ya know what? I completely agree. Earlier I answered like 4 religious ?'s in a row. But I know--and respect--that others may not feel the same way. That was apparent when I saw the ?'s to begin with. I try not to waste my time answering ?'s that were obviously posted by people who are trying to mock my faith--and I am a Christian, just to clarify. But if someone asks for an opinion, I think that providing an honest answer--and what I consider to be an honest one, after being baptized Pentecostal at the age of six--is far better than throwing accusations around. People are going to believe what they want to believe, reguardless of what I say, but then again so will I. I believe what I believe because in my life I have found it to make sense. Given that there really is a god, I would assume He knows that we shouldn't be expected to put a "childlike faith" in something that makes no sense to us as mere human beings. He is powerful enough to create the universe, is He not also powerful enough to understand our logic? If someone else argues my point of view after I put forth all the information I have, then it's up to them. But in my life, I know of numerous situations which I would not have overcome had it not been for a higher power. But that's just me...or maybe I just recognize God's work in my life bc I was raised to pay attention...Who knows? I won't force my views on anyone else, nor will I not let someone shake them.
Good question in any case--really some food for thought. I hope this gave you hope for some of us as far as our ability to practice tolerance!!!

Have you also noticed that the most insulting answer tends to be chosen as best answer. Doesn't say much about people in general, does it? I agree with you about the fact that people really should respect others. I have my beliefs and you have yours. So what if we don't agree. I fully respect your right to be wrong! lol (Joking!) I don't know who is right or who is wrong. Guess I won't find out until I'm dead and then it's a bit late for I told you so's. I doubt if any 2 people in the world will ever agree on everything, especially regarding religion and spirituality. Can't we just agree to disagree and leave each other in peace and to our individual beliefs?

Amen sistah!
Most of my answers have been very civil and were a true attempt to address the question.
I am, however, guilty of making a few rude remarks (never an insult) in repsonse to so much hate and intolerance...it just irritates me...ya know! In the face of stupidity and hate, it can be so difficult not to want to spew insults at people...my rage is geared mostly to repliers as oppose to askers.
Well, thanks for the reminder about treating people with respect and dignity. We all need to humble and search ourselves on a regular basis to make sure we are squared away.

Yes.. People need to remember that not everyone has the same belief as them, if you answer a question on religion but your an athiest, dont bag them out, just give your opinion and be done with it.. same with christians posting questions about athiests having no truth and all that crap, if you want to share an opinion awesome, but leave the personal attacks our of it.. show abit of maturity!

I can agree with you, but if you really notice this religious/spiritual site is bombarded eveyday with atheists INSULTING & BULLYING Christians and they expect christians to sit back and be cowards and take it and not say anything in their defense when they Mock, Disrespect, Harass, Verbally Abuse, And Insult Christians And Their GOD They Love & Serve!...Yet, they complain about being insulted!.....Any one can see that they are the major problem on this site, that's why they pick a religious/spiritual site to Condemn and be Crule & Mean!.....They prove this everyday and seems as though folks are closing their eyes to this and pretending that it's not happening!....there has not been one atheist who has had any Positive good greeting to any believer on this site!....so when they stop making wars then everybody can get along!.......Check It Out!....

Yes... but I try not to pay attention to insulting words in this section. Religion is a very sensitive subject...
In this section, we mostly see religious vs anti-religious.
I really want this section to be split into 2 different categories "religion" and "spirituality".
In this hypothetical "religion" section, religious & anti-religious would be free to express their disagreements.
But at least, the ones who needs to ask/answer spiritual questions would be freed from such insulting words.

I soooooo agree with your post!
Please Check out my post: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Alm87QQzGcBIlBVB8AoL1Ijsy6IX?qid=20060725083302AAGd9yJ
Are you willing to take my challenge? The only way to stop this is fighting and aggravating of each other.
Are you willing to stop even if people don't respond nicely? Each time we get angry and say hurtful things we contribute to the problem and continue the cycle.
Atheist, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Wiccan, Agnostic, or any other religion, can we agree to be respectful of one another? That does not mean we have to agree, just that our responses will not be defensive or hurtful.
Thank you for your post!!

Tensions tend to run high, when religion is concerned, due to the inherent uncertainty in the subject. No one can honestly say that they know whether or not God exists, or what his intentions are, if he does. Anyone who says they do is lying. Anyone who believes they do is delusional. But due to fear, in one manifestation or another, most people need to feel that they are right, and that they do know. And when you're desperate to know something you can't possibly know, you'll react rather harshly to anyone who casts doubt upon the notions you want so desperately to be true. (Or most people will, anyway.)

i imagine you printed this contained in the incorrect area. besides the undeniable fact that, i will oblige you with a reaction, poems and lyrics are continuously open for interpretation, so continuously be prepared for a blend of evaluations. once you've the balls to jot down it then have the balls to except all factors of view!!! no longer something own!!!
