Apply baking soda to the tooth area. In the event that the ache is caused by acids this will help. This can be preceded by gargling with salt water. If caused by infection penicillin can help -- but you'll probably need a prescription for that unless you live in a country where you can buy it freely.

You need to see a dentist right away. Extraction may not be necessary. Even if you can't afford a dentist there are free clinics. The best ones are connected with dental schools.

You have nerve damage in your mouth. You're going to have to push the dentist into getting you in sooner, or ask for a prescription for heavy duty pain killers like darvosets or something. Next to child birth a severe tooth infection is about the most extreme pain a human being can feel without going into shock.

You better go to the emergency room or find a dentist who can immediately address your problem. He can do dental X-rays to see the extent of your dental problem, extract the aching tooth if necessary and give you an analgesic which will alleviate the pain and inflammation after extraction. REMEMBER...YOU HAVE TO WORK ON THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM...THE TOOTHACHE IS JUST A SYMPTOM OF A DENTAL PROBLEM...GO SEE A DENTIST RIGHT AWAY!!!

One thing that works really good (at least I was told by a co-worker) is Pleasure Balm by Kama Sutra. They usually carry it in adult stores, although I've seen some of their products in the specialty gift and bath stuff at my local Longs Drugs. I'm not kidding this stuff does numb the area and it's mint flavored so it doesn't taste too bad. I would also get the tooth taken care of as soon as possible, mouth pain is one of the worst....

Old remedy...

get a bowl of ice, put the hand that is opposite to the side of the toothache into the ice and get the area between the thumb and forefinger as cold as you can stand it.

Worked for me 95% of the time...and see the dentist a.s.a.p. because it sounds like you might have an abcess.

You may need some kind of narcotic. I would go to your local ER, rate your pain a 10, the worst you ever felt (only if it's true) and see what they can do for you. Make sure you make an appt. to see your dentist or a maxillofacial surgeon, if necessary, ASAP.

I m not sure if this is correct, but I heard that tooth cant be pulled out if you re having toothache, need to wait till pain is gone. BTW try salt water (dont swallow though!), do it may times.

You might have an infection--if so, the only thing that will help is antibiotics. I had the same thing happen last summer. If you can stand it, brush the area really well, apply ambesol, and take ibuprofin for the inflammation. Depending on your age/size, you can take up to y00 mg safely--ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!!

Why can't you get in for weeks? Do they know how bad your toothache is? I would try and find someone else if I were you. If any of my patients have a toothache I see them that day or a least the next day.
