I don't.
I was in Iraq during the 2004 election campaign. We universally regarded Kerry as not having a clue about what was going on over there.
PS - Kerry's Senate voting record hurt him more than anything else.

Nope, I don't find it surprising at all. Historically, the Democrats have done nothing except hurt the military. They have cut our spending (meaning: less training time, schooling, events, equipment, personnel, medical, dental, etc), and that does nothing but destroy morale of the armed forces.
Republicans are pro-military, and have always ensure that the military has enough money to get the job done.
As far as the remark that the military censors it's news and the military members aren't as well informed; that may have been true during WWII, but in today's world we aren't locked in on only what the military gives us. With the advent of the Internet, we have access to various news media thru-out the world.
MOST (not all, but most) of the people (military members and DAC) that I have talked to voted Republican, and usually do. They know what it means to loss the spending.

These quotes from soldiers in the article says it all:
"Expressing political opinions was just unacceptable — and also against regulations."
“I do what I’m told,” said Marine Sgt. Edward J. Leslie, a squad leader in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment. “I don’t really second-guess the president.”

It's good and bad.
Good because the soldiers are following the orders of the Prez.
Bad because their Prez is conducting an illegal and unjust war that is causing the deaths of many brave American military personnel.

no.
the military censors the information that the troops have access to.
they have no idea what is really going on...they can only hear things good for morale.....or postive things......as the truth is bad for morale.
they don't get liberal media but do get access to Rush Limbaugh.
its sad that if your going to give your life for your country that you not get all sides.........i would think they deserve at least that.
