Stay in Long Beach.. Harbor City is a low incomed neighborhood, who doesn't even have their own police department. They have to contract with the Sherrif's of LA County. How bad is that?

It is not a modern looking city.. more industrial and run down than anything else. It borders Torrance, Gardena, Carson, and the 405/110 freeway.

I live in Wilmington, but I love where you're from, Long Beach. umm, Harbor City is diverse & has many avail apts/houses for rent. It is a haven for gangs though, so be warned. My godson's family lives there & they seem to like it. But rent is relatively inexpensive there, they pay like $800 for 2beds/1bath. Hope this helps.
