Pros for Cat
- Quiet
- Very Clean and smelless
- Very Independent
- Naturally house broken, all you need is a litterbox
- Is softer and nicer to hug than dogs

Cons for Cat
-May scratch your furniture
-May be difficult to groom, like clipping nails, bathing and brushing their fur
-Difficult to train to listen to commands as they have a mind of their own, and whether they obey you or not is up to their mood
-Don't expect undying loyalty or love from a cat if you don't treat it well, it has too much self-respect to take crap from owners

Pros for Dog
- Dog mentality is slave mentality, so you could probably train it to alot of things for you
- Forever faithful and forgiving, so you can probably ill treat your dog all you want, and it will still love you
- Can be a guard dog to protect you
- Easy to please, will give you total adoration without much effort from your part, all you need to be is provide it food

Cons for Dog
-Very needy, needs alot of attention or gets depressed
-They get dirty very easily and stinks up often
- They slopper
-Takes alot of effort and patience to house break

Well Cats are a lot easier to house break than dogs, I have 3 cats and a dog and all 3 cats put together are easier to take care of than the dog. Dogs are very demanding of attention and cats are more independant.

Pros
Unconditional love and affection
Always there for the owner when there down
Dogs guard your property
Cats kill spiders, flies, mice etc
They end up as one of the family
Usually the only thing in the house thats pleased to see you when you get indoors!

Cons
If you have a dog like mine, thats moulting loads and loads!
Vet bills- i took my dog to the vet about a lump on her paw, yesterday, she has to have an operation on friday morning
and already ive been told it will cost about £250, where as cats are usually cheaper at the vets and they look after themselves for a while, and both animals are lovely so y not comprmise and get a pup and a kitten, they will play together and probably get on great?

In general animals ( and that includes women ) are a lot of work to take care of, however they are cute/cuddly/fun so it's up to you....if you don't mind the work and associated costs that go with them then go for it...by the way, think more dog-men shouldn't own cats.

well lets see :the pros of cats: the nice soft warm fur,big cute eyes, they kill mice ,rats, bugs aka the creepies :),they are calm, they are playful they dont beg, they could save you!!

the pros of dogs: they keep those pesky kids outta my garden!!!,they love walks, they love fetch, they could save you!!,they pee outside(thank god).

the cons of cats : they make the kid say"mommy wheres fishy?" ,they scratch the couch, they hiss, the smelly poo,.

the cons of dogs: they bite your hand off, they bark, the cops have em,they get you sued for a dead cat for $9000,they pee in or on properties and get you sued, they just have to have one more bite, they think their soooooooooooooo cute with ripped up blinds, they leave smelly horsefly covered presents, and shred your prized worlds largest lemon the day before the contest. so get a cat

pros- you have a companion who will love you no matter who hates you, they're cuddle and they could be your longtime friend who could be your running buddy, movie buddy, or just someone to hang out with.
cons- they are a lot of responsibility, they take a lot of your time, you might not be financially equipped, and the color of your carpet might change.
so, if you have the money, time, love and non-toxic cleaning supplies, then go for it, if not, you might want to wait awhile, for your sake, an the animal's sake

dogs are generally more friendly and "loving" animals. you can take them more places and they are more the companion type. however, they take more care and attention.

cats, on the other hand, give less attention, but also reqiure less. they are easy to maintin and basically take care of themselves.

in the end, it depends on the animal itself nd your personal preference.
