i would like to share an experience with you all. last year for a couple weeks i restricted my diet to a predominately raw food diet, except i ate eggs, and drank keifer. i was also taking a few supplements prescribed by my(naturopath) doctor. one day i was sitting at my computer and i had this weird experience come over me. all the tension in my body went away, and my vision enhanced all the colors in the room. i decided to close my eyes and i saw a white light in the shape of a candle and all the colors of the rainbow where darting from it. anyone have similar experiences to share? what does it mean?
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! NO BIBLE QUOTING!!! PLEASE! I beg you! PLEASE don't quote the bible! i'm interested in experience. intelligent responses only please. non-sectarian responses. PLEASE don't quote the bible!

Fasting is one of the things that will open the 'third eye'. Now you have normal vision and spiritual vision. Work to hone this 'sight' and you will be glad you did. A good book to read---'Personal Power through Awareness' by Sanaya Roman. PEACE to you. May you see everything clearly.

I, personally, have experienced moments of "illumination" similar to that which you described, during meditation.
Some people say such experiences are merely a psychological or neurological phenomenon. I felt that my senses were enhanced, but, regrettably, cannot give objectively verifiable evidence of any extraordinary insights or awareness during or later traceable to the experience. Just enough "light shed on the subject" to keep me from being too skeptical of other such reports.
And, of course, you have heard of the hunter who accidentally killed and ate the Energizer Bunny without taking out the batteries. His entire soul reportedly was filled with light. He just kept going and going until finally, through normal bodily processes, he got rid of the indigestible portions-- bones, batteries and all.
This, of course, is anecdotal evidence, bound to be scoffed at by skeptics, and no doubt disproven by the fact that the Energizer Bunny is still doing his commercials! So I think the "Energizer bunny" story must be a spurious tale, concocted as a stumbling block, to disprove the spirituality of those of us who feel that we have been illuminated without benefit of batteries.
In cases of apparent spiritual illumination, the experience is for your benefit so it is not necessary to prove anything to anybody else-- that is, to elicit their belief in what you have shared with them-- for it is logically impossible to objectively prove the validity of a subjective experience, and will remain so until oranges become apples.
As I have had similar experiences, and have heard many other reports with which I could identify, I believe something extraordinary happened to you, also.

There are several possible rational explanations for what happened to you.
First, why were you on a diet?
It has been demonstrated throughout tons of cultures that fasting can induce spiritual "visions". I'm not sure on the mechanism, but it could possibly be caused by a near-syncopal event (i.e. almost passing out).
Second, you could have been having a "waking dream".
Third, you eating/drinking substances that could have had possible hallucigenic effects (i.e. food that could have been spoiled).
Unfortunately, I really don't have any similar (non-drug related) experiences to share like yours.

Yes, I've seen the light, been engulfed by it and sent back. Now I seem to have some capabilities in that I can see and hear my deceased relatives on the other side. It is very comforting and if I died tomorrow, I would have no fear whatsoever.

extreme stress brought to you by the screen's radiation or by your life events in the last few days...and your body acted the way it felt like. Why do you think there are no identical religious experiences even though there's one god? Because there's no god and there are no religious experiences. Just crap and stress-induced responses

Yes I have, and it has nothing to do with the Bible are any of that kind of stuff. There is something going on right out side of our perception and it is not good benevolent or any of that, it's bad very bad, and it is almost here.

Yup, when I close my eyes and rub them, man, suddenly I see stars, then squares, all kinds of weird colours. And it doesn't really matter whether I eat McD's or Green eggs and ham, all the same.

I flatlined when I was 11. There was no light, no angels, no screams of tortured souls...lol it pretty much sucked. All I remember is feeling both heavy and light at the same time.
No light.
Oh and about your experience - it means you were high. =)
