I think it's called "Cooking Basics" or something. I dunno, I picked it up at a used bookstore and it's kinda worn on the cover. I think it's like from the 70's or something. Oh the recipie states: Toast: Ingredients: bread
Directions: place bread on wire rack of oven or pan and heat at 250 degrees until golden brown turning halfway through, OR place in toaster.

Well, you can make toast a number of ways. Traditionally people make toast in a toaster. You can also grill or dry fry on skillet, you can place in oven or over a camp fire. Each one of these methods will give the bread a distinctly different flavour.

I believe that!
A GOOD cookbook will dumb it down so that anyone can understand it. I have several of them, though not that basic.
I am a good cook, but when I told someone (a fellow cook) that I didn't know what to do with spaghetti squash, he had the same reaction that you did!
You would be surprised at what tips are useful.
What was the name of the cookbook?

Thanks man, your the chef of the century!

Those old books can be funny. My wife found an old "how to" book, and some of the dating/sex suggestions are hilarious.
