I'm having problem installing my windows updates, I keep getting this: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB917283). What can I do to fix this problem?

If you click on the link there on the failure message, you get a list of failed updates. Next to these are icons, one is for information.
This information bubble says you can contact Microsoft for free for failed Microsoft updates.

If u r updating directoly from micro soft web site --> this web site will search first ur o.s. and h\w details is these are legal or not.
If this is legal then u can go for updates easily.
But if they are not legal (means pirated) then u can not update this.
