First off, don't give me the "God can do anything" crap because the bible and the "prophecies" within were written by men, not God.
He gave you a brain, use it.
Now think about this. If someone can predict the future, that means that the future has already happened and is somehow sending messages back to the past. It really can't happen any other way.
But the big problem here is that this would mean that we have no free will. If the future is already written, then you have no control over what you do. And if that's the case, your sins were your destiny.
Wierd. Nuclear physicists grapple with the same argument. But most of you wouldn't know about that, would you?

Nostradamus??? Holy Sh!t that's even worse than believing bible prophecies. Try reading the quatrains sometime. They're a convoluted mess of really bad poetry. And the text is such that one could fit them to "predict" all manner of things from any one quatrain.
Nostradamus...HA! Good Lord I can't beleive people still consider that crap true.

Prophecies were written by nutcases. And they are intepreted by equally similar nutcases, who just want to show that they can decode or translate these prophecies. Situation's are just added up to some reference's in one of the various prophecies and printed or shown by the media. Nostradamus has a whole book but only a few have came true or we have been made to believe are true, but still he's the most publicised dead person.

Prophecies are messages sent by God, who has already seen the events happen, yes. However, have you ever heard of the theory of paralell realities? Neuclear physicists grapple with this subject, but you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
Basically, the theory states that there are infinite realities, where the decisions you make determinte which of these realities you follow. Basically, the timline is an infinite web of paths that you can follow from one end to the other.
So now, apply this to Christian thinking, where God says "here is the path, walk ye in it." There are infinite paths that you can chose, and you are free to chose any. But God, being omnicient and all knowing, already knows which is the best one for you to walk in. And one of the ways he will tell you throught prophets.
There, I used my brain.

First off The bible was writen by man. so was every science book out there. The bible was writen by men that were inspired by God.
Also your sins are your destiny.
Answer these questions. Are you a good person. (logic)
10 comandments. Ill use 4
Have you ever told a lie? even a white lie. it's still a lie.
Have you ever stolen something? even if its small.
Have you ever used Gods name in vain (to replace with a cure word.
Jesus said "you've herd is said un old though shal not commit adultry. But I say who ever looks at another with lust has alredy commited adultry with that person in you heart."
If you have answerd yes to any of these questions. you have broken Gods law. there for you will be found guilty on judgement day. what does a Just judge do to some one who is guilty?????????????
Prohecies.....Well It was writen that god would send some one to be sacraficed for our sins hundreds of years before Jesus died for us.
Prohecies are true because they happen the way they were said they would happen. Read the book of romans and Iseah.

Prophecies haven't already happened, it is the forthtelling of things to come. A real prophet is one who is right 100% of the time. That is why so much credibility is given to the Bible because in the old testament there are hundreds and hundreds of prophecies written centuries before they came true (very specific explanations, situations, etc.) ... they can't be written off as coincidence.

God can do anything. I just had to say that.
Yes, He gave us a brain - it doesn't mean they're fully functional. Many things are odd and don't make sense. If God knows what we are going to do, and everything is already done, then why bother? True, we are destined to be sinners. No escaping that!
Best verses to read: Isa 45:9, Eph 1:4-5, and ESPECIALLY Rom 9:18-24.

the only way i can answer that is to say it is your faith.
the best example i can give is Nostradamus....through out history people say oh this fits this prediction and that fits this one, but how many times have we pointed out things that fit his predictions that we already assigned a historical event to. so it is really all in what you want to believe.
you say that it is already charted and it is all destined to happen....how often are you told you will do something and whether you realize it or not you do it? so i think some "prophecies" have come to be because we didn't realize we made it happen. so again all in what you want to believe.

Did you ever read the "Dune" books by Frank Herbert?
He described the ability to prophesy as something like a person who was at the top of a dune describing what they see to a person at the bottom. The future they see is not "fixed" but a view that moves and changes as present time flows toward it.
I like to think of a river that flows with a beginning and end, but only being able to see the water in front of you as you are floating on it. You may be able to see ahead, but that's no guarantee that conditions will be like that when you get there.

i actually asked a self-proclaimed psychic this once. no, i didn't believe she was actually psychic but that's not the point. they said the reason people like her see the future is because it was meant to be changed. otherwise, there would be no reason for them to see what they do. in that case, our sins are not our destiny. they have been shown to us to be prevented. don't ask me about any of this, i didn't come up with it. i'm just passing on the information...

The easy way for prophecies to be true is to dispense with the absurd concept of free will that is causing you problems.
...now you're just left with the paradoxes of time travel...
