THE HARDEST HITTING SUBWOOFER IN THE WORLD IS THE MTX JACKHAMMER !
The Jackhammer is 22 inches, weighs over 125 pounds, and has a 6000 watt Rms (12,000 Peak).
This woofer will run you close to $7500 each and you would need at least 4 of the most powerful Mono Channel amplifiers available (Rockford Fosgate 30001bd) to get the most out of it.
I have heard just one of them being used with 3 high output amplifiers in a series and it was so ridiculously loud that it was setting off car alarms over a block away.
You couldn't feel yourself breathing.
The Jackhammer is more powerufl that the Pioneer SPL5000. BTW the reason why there are no SPL level records normally posted for these woofers is because SPL depends on a number of factors such as ENCOLSURE SIZE, INPUT POWER as well as factors that change such as sea level, atmospheric pressure, etc.
The Jackhammer can output over 185 Decibels if powered properly and given the proper enclusure conditions.
THE KICKER SOLO X 18" is a very powerful speaker but its main attraction is the ability to swap out damaged voice coils during competitions so you don't have top rebuild the entire subwoofer system - ask yourself this though - if the Solo X 18 was so powerful, WHY WOULD THEY BE SO AFRAID OF IT BLOWING OUT?

I beg to differ. I believe that the kicker SoloX 18 Is one of the hardest hitting speaker... With the ablilty to be completely disabled and then buy replacement parts to put back together....This speaker takes the cake

if the jackhammer was the hardest hitting sub, then why doesnt it hold any world records? the jackhammer is overated, and stupid. the loudest sub on the planet is the pioneer spl5000. just 13 of them hit 180.5 db in october. the loudest any car has hit ever. so imo that is the best.

i'm using a homemade speaker but it still hits hard.
it's designed for outdoor use. just like in an open air concert.
bolted it on the back of my 4x4.

I agree with the Jackhammer. Didn't you see Pimp My Ride where they had to use a Cherry Picker to install it?
