Keep a muzzle on him when he's not in his cage. Make sure he has it off often enough to be able to eat and drink (especially in the heat). Use a newspaper to make a big noise when he's bad and take him immediately to his cage when he tries biting.

Most of all, give him something constructive to chew, like a rawhide bone or nylon toy. Make sure he gets enough exercise and gets praise when he is good.

Did you ever stop to think about why he kept on biting. Even though dogs have lived with humans for a long time they still have wild instincts. Don't get rid of your dog just because he bites. That is being a poor animal owner. You can't just go pick out a new dog if one doesn't work out. Were you doing something that aggravated the dog or did it just bite for no reason? I would only punch if you felt your life was in danger, if not then don't. Along the way you have probably taught your dog this bad behavior. If the dog is biting you can pinch down just behind the nose. Dogs will start to nip at a young age, make sure you teach them this is not OK. Baby teeth hurt but adult teeth hurt even more. If you can't solve it go to an obedience trainer and get it worked out.

Umm...have you considered anger therapy? PUNCH YOUR DOG?? I mean are you serious??
If your dog bites you then there is probably a reason. First of all, he needs to know that you are the alpha. Second, have him checked out to make sure he's not having any health issues that are making him irritable. Third, and MOST important, take him to dog school!
I took my dog to obedience training and it made all the difference in the world. An animals agressive behavior is usually a reflection of the caretaker and a lack of training or time spent or both. Take your dog to obedience training and remember he is completely dependent on you. The two of you will have many years together so make it a good for both of you by investing time and a little money - it will be totally worth it in the long run!

Lead with love, your dog will love and admire you no matter what so do not be mean to him, beside he will not learn from this. There are many ways to teach a dog not to bite, try looking up info on the Internet! And be patient! Most dogs bite as they are playing, and do not understand. You must also be consistent, you must tell him no every single time, not just sometimes-it is either OK all the time or it is not. Other wise they do not understand. Beside would you want your parents/friends to punch you every time you did something they did not like? Lead with love!

If you have come to point where you think that the only solution is to punch your dog, I would call the humane society and tell them to come take the dog away. Sometimes dogs can be frustrating, but they may need to be in a different environment that would suit him better and you. Next time, do some research on what kind of dog you are getting and ask questions. It sickens me to think you would harm your dog, so do both of you a favor and surrender it to the proper authorities.

You call yourself "The Wise" and you want to punch your dog because he's biting..... get him a muzzle or get him trained.

There is no reason why you need to punch him, it's a simple lack of training on your part.
Take him to Petsmart and get him trained, maybe they'll be able to train you too in pet ownership etiquette.

Don't punch your dog. Get it some training. Try your local park district, they may have a dog training class.

Biting other people? If so you better get rid of him.

Get him some rawhide bones to chew on, problem solved.

no physical!!!!!!!, he's probably biting because 1. he hasn't had enough handling, 2. because he's had to much handling or 3. bad past with an abusive owner
