Just that question alone should help anybody realize how stupid religion is.
There is not a damn thing wrong with pork!
Were there dieticians 2000 years ago?
Eating too much of anything can be bad for you.
Back then they didn't have a way to keep meat cold because they couldn't figure out how to create electricity or refrigerators. So meat went bad fast and was unhealthy, and I'm sure that's likely how that ended up in the bible.
God says don't eat pork, and if you don't listen to what god says you will burn in eternal hellfire. An effective way to keep people well away from pork.
Funny how people 2000 years ago couldn't figure out electricity, refrigerators, or even that if you kept meat cold it would not go bad, and yet they were able to figure out the origin of the universe.

If you believe the bible should dictate your life and you believe that the new testimate overrides the old testimate, you can eat pork. The initial ban on certain kinds of meat was in Leviticus 11:42. It does not name pork as restricted by name but limits what is allowed and pork is not one of them.
Leviticus, by the way is also the only place that condemns homosexuality but fornication (sex outside of wedlock) is denounced throughout the old and new testament. Interesting what conservatives end up getting all worked up about eh?

In the old testament It is true pork is forbidden but in the new testament...animals in all fashion and form are beneath us and as such OK to be eaten. But remember anything in too much abundance is bad for you!! On short notice Mathew 15:11 (that which goeth into the mouth no defile a man but what comes out of it.!)

In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork.

No you can't. Jesus even confirmed the teachings of the Torah. Then along comes a disciple who wrote about his dream where he said God told him that every animal is ok to eat now.
If this were true, there would be no such things as parasites, bird flu, mad cow, and plagues would have never been spread in Europe through rats. If you want to believe Jesus's word, follow the old testament. If you want to believe his diciples word, and not Jesus', then eat pork.

No, Leviticus 11 states this clearly.
You have seen other New Testament verses which say otherwise. I ask you to examine the complete context of those passages.
Here's something to think about:
Genesis 7:2 GOD tells Noah to bring only clean animals by sevens and the unclean in pairs. WHY??? They could not grow their food, so, GOD allowed them to eat of the clean animals on their journey through the flood. If GOD allowed them to eat pigs, pigs would be extinct today!!!
Another thing to consider, if GOD said in the Bible not to eat pigs, but, then says you can eat whatever you want, wouldn't there be a contradiction? If there is a single contradiction, the Bible could not be trusted!!!
Mark 7 begins with washing your hands before eating. JESUS referred to eating with dirty hands does not defile. Please read the whole passage!!!
1 Timothy 4:3 states meats in general. However, it does not assume every meat! If you assumed every meat is good for food, then why not eat skunk?
Something to think about.

If you believe and follow the Old Testament, then you are not allowed to eat pork. The new Testament allows it to suit the convenience of man

Yes, you can eat pork. The Old Testament talks about uncleanliness, but that was the Old law. It's okay now.
