A week or so ago someone had asked about where would we be if Adam and Eve had not sinned. Someone said that it was all God's plan. They said that God knew they would sin and that is why he put the tree of knowledge there. Now because of the sin God said that Eve would have to bear children and Adam would have to work the land to be able to have food to eat. There was to be much suffering because of the sin. If this was the plan then why would God plan to make people suffer? Why would God have planned death of children and suffering too? I am curious. I was once a Christian and I have always wondered about this. I am not trying to slam your God. Just trying to understand.

Sweetie "God" didn't do any of it, man did. It all comes down to a matter of choices. 'God" gave everyone ( no matter who's' "God" one may be referring to) FREE WILL. It's up to each and everyone of us to decide what is good or bad, right or wrong and conduct ourselves accordingly. We screwed it up then and continue to do so. It doesn't have a thing to do with "God" Just us and our own stupidity. Nothing and no one more.

Adam and Eve were CHOSEN to be the first...

A & E could not have children while they were in the Garden of Eden...

Eve chose the fruit so that we could all be born...

Adam chose the fruit so that he could remain with Eve as he had been commanded... so that we could all be born... hmmm.. I guess he could have told God that he had a "defective woman" because she had sinned... but he too realized that they would not be able to populate the earth while in the Garden of Eden...

Adam and Eve made the choice to follow the command of the Lord... it was not an easy choice... it was intentionally hard so that later WE would know that they too had been tested...

Satan does not have a body... he was cast out of Heaven and will NEVER have a body... and he is jealous and miserable... and he wants us to be miserable just like him... but we will always have power over him here on earth... because we have a body... and the only way he gets one is to possess it for a short time...

Satan convinces people to do evil... and the more evil they do.. the more he can get them to do more.. until in the end he has them under his control... and they cannot break away... unless they ask for Jesus' help... and repent...

God will NOT take away our free will... our agency to make choices... even when they result in misery and suffering... but he will bless us to stand up to the suffering... and make it bearable if we live by his commandments...

this life is just a snap of the fingers in time... when compared to eternity... we are all tested... and some are witnesses against those who fail the test.

Obviously God didn't program people like robots. He gave them free will - to do accordingly whatever they wanted. I refuse to believe that were some experiment gone wrong. The original purpose of man included worship of God. By eating the fruit of the tree that God told them not to - just because a snake said "Oh, God was lying about that death part" - proved that they didn't have faith in what God said was true. It also put humans to the test as to whether we could rule ourselves. The whole purpose of the Bible is to show us that God should have sovereignty over us. Obviously we as humans aren't getting any better at ruling ourselves. It was not God's original plan to have humans suffer. But since most humans so stubbornly refuse to believe that anyone can do a better job at ruling over them than themselves, the earth keeps getting worse. The Bible promises that at a time that only God knows, he will say it's enough and fix everything. His original purpose has not changed. I'm very sick of people wanting to blame God for suffering. If God just wanted to torture us he wouldn't have made heaven or earth. He would have just created us like hampsters in a cage and tortured us at will. Adam and Eve sinned before they had kid's. Therefore their sin passed along to everybody else. "The wages sin pays is death." Since we've all inherited this sin/imperfection, then we all have to die someday. At least until God's day of vengeance get's here.

Honestly Christie,

Whoever told you it was God's plan..... They certainly lied..... Just like the father of the lie, Satan. God's purpose for the world was and still IS "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it." Gen 1:28 If you notice in verse 31..... it says "God saw everything he had made and, LOOK! it was very good!"

If you read the Bible and truly want to know God..... We will come to find out that God is LOVE! He loving, powerful, great wisdom, and justice. Why would he PLAN to suffer us? Really think about that......... Do you really think that from the very beginning of everything that he created (including Jesus- his son).... HE PLANNED TO have Jesus murdered???? Does that make ANY sense at all? Would you plan to kill your child even before having them? I don't think so........

God having those wonderful qualities don't at all equal to Satan's deception to Eve, and disobeying God, BEING ALL PLANNED BY GOD....... Honestly......

We are now suffering the way we do because of what Adam and Eve did...... and instead of God just getting rid of them, like we all wish he would have... that would have not brought TRUE justice to God's name of HIS rightful sovereignty that Satan challenged.
We now have to keep in mind that God will soon put an end to the wickedness, such as suffering, death..............
Ps. 37: 10,11 -
"And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more...... 11) But the meek one themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

Who ever told you that needs to review the Bible. He knew they would sin but that was not why he put the tree their. The tree was put their and they were warned that was all. The truth is that we would all be in paradise if they hadn't eaten the fruit. Having sex is not a sin their for we would still be born we would just have better and perfect lives. The person that said God wants us to suffer does not understand what they read and needs to take a 3rd grade comprehension class before he tries to explain the bible to anyone at all.

no way, God did not plan for us to suffer. But since man fell from his blessing, man had to suffer. After they fell, they were ejected from the garden so they would not eat from the tree of life. But Jesus payed the price for that sin, so now we can get eternal life through him.
But first of all, God did not purpse for Adam and Eve to fall. The tree of knowledge was put there so that poeple could have free will.... If there were no choice, how could you choose? if there was no evil, how could you choose good? Hope that helps!

It wasn't God's plan to bring sin into this world ....... he allows each of us to have free choice.

Adam & Eve both used bad judgement "choosing" not to obey God and
in turn were responsible for ALL the evils of sin
for future generations, including suffering & death.

Nobody knows. Religious people will defend God and say that his ways are not our ways.

Why is there war? Does God create war because he likes to see people killed?

Why did hurricane Katrina take place? Did God have something against the people of New Orleans? Didn't thousands of people pray that the hurricane would not strike them?

There are no answers to any of this -- despite what religious people will tell you. Stop fretting about these things because you will worry too much about things that have no true answers -- unless you want to be brain-washed by religious people and then end up doing everything they tell you to do. You're too smart for that. Good luck.

Sin didn't start with man sin started with Lucifer..who like man had a freewill and the third of angels he deceived.

With satan on the loose in the earth...It might have been a matter of time..but since satan is a great deceiver..it might not have taken long..history in the bible shows it took not long at all....

Let me back up a bit ...and say that satan always wanted to be like God whether or not that he though he could take on God who knows ...that testifies the fact of his freewill and the lack of understanding..on his part...

SO he gets cast down..and the creation of God at that time was not man or all that was created in mans time...it was the dinosaurs..and all their species..including what we would call cavemen...(not created in the likeness and image of God they were not living souls) they were called beasts or creatures...

When God created the earth and heavens the dinosaurs and such...were not created to be confused creatures...simply because God is not the author of confusion..the bible says..so
When satan got on the scene...Theoretically...there was peace before him and confusion afterwards...
let me remind you of a time the bible talks about where the lion lays down with the lamb...this can be without satan around...because he is the author of confusion...

It would have been a matter of time..God knew that too..so ..he had a plan for man the living soul man...and this plan...was not meant to cause suffering and pain...
but it happens that way because of choice...
is it not a matter of choice when you speak of abortion?...when nations rise against nations for their own agendas?...causing famine pestilence destruction...at the hand of man..not God...mans choice has brough him to where we are now...but God still...knows mans choice...
and prepared a way of escape...Jesus...the way the truth and the life...

God desires the praise glory and honor from his creation...and in this..we know that ...it is better to give God praise glory and honor..from the heart ...rather than in essence having a gun put to your head...and being forced...what a greater praise to endure hard trials and tribulations..and still love and praise the true and living God.....knowing He brought you through...Gods plan is beyond the comprehension of man...but thank God for knowing him and ..that he can show us his purpose for us...And he will never leave us or forsake us...God bless

God has given u the freedom, u are free to make the decisions and to do whatever u want. the death of children is not because God wants, he gave us the power to prevent the death of children, to prevent war, to be kind to each other and so on. It is because of human beings' fault. Life is a test but most people fail this test because there is still many children dying, many poor families struggling with life and ... but a few people tries to help them.

Can God prevent the death of children or human beings?

Those part of the bible isn't true story. Those are just images for us to interpret. Just imagine... Who would be able to tell what happened? only Adam and Eve were there... Did God wrote them on a book? I don't think so. And at that time, do they even know how to write?
