I am 20 years old and I met this guy at work that i am interested in. He looks like he is 26 years old. It turns out that he is 34!! I am really good friends with him. I do have a major crush on him and he is a really great person. He also admitted that he had a crush on me, but we both hate the age gap that is between us. However, once i am more mature, out of colllege and finanncially stable( im thinkinh at around 24 or 25) I would like to date him..I told him that and he said that he is patient and will wait. He and I agreed that their should be no rush. So will it be ok to date somone 14 yrs older when im 24 or 25?

Sure, why not.

Of course when he was 20, you were only 6.
It would sound absurd.

But you are 20 now, and he is only 34.
By the time you reach 24 or 25, he will be 38 or 39.

Oh and there is something you would want to remind yourself and that is girls age faster then men ( a lot faster ).

So you guys will be a great pair.

The only reason it's not okay now is the fact that you guys don't want it.

You are 20 years old...you are legal to date whomever you want that is of age. There is no law saying you can't. heck why can't you date now....without it being anything serious. Go out as friends spend time together outside the work place, you may find it's merely a crush on an older man/younger woman.

Why wait?

girl i am 24 years old and i am dating a guy that is 59 years old and we have been together for 3 years and have a 2 year old daughter together. so hell yeah you should date whom ever you chose since you are 20 yrs. old. my bf 35 years older than i am and there is nothing with that either, yes people think that he is my father, but no he is NOT. he is my bf, but we are spliting up because we cant ever get along and i am too young for him and he wants to move to Michigan and i don't want to leave my dieing mother. she has bone cancer and lung cancer as well. she is only 43. so go ahead and date him if you so choose to do so. but if you want to wait then that is the BEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO!!!!!!!

It is a large age difference but you are old enough to make that decision on your own. Look online to find information about others who date men of that age difference.

Sure, it will be, even now, but at 20 years old, you still have a lot to learn, which you will do in college. I'm afraid that after college, you will have different feelings towards him. But that's life for you.
