I love pugs, I have two, but none of my friends seem to like pugs. They say they're "fat and ugly", but my pugs are just chubby, and I think they are so completely adorable.
Does everyone else hate pugs? Or are my friends just a$$holes?

I love all dogs. Personally I do not care for the look of the dogs with the flat face, no nose look. I do not understand why breeds were created with the short noses when it causes so many problems with breathing. I have a Chihuahua with a very short nose and she has lots of breathing problems too. Breeders are creating that short nose look in the chihuahua altho it will never be as short as the pug. I don't hate pugs, just do not care for that flat face look. I love dogs more for their personality than anything and the pugs that I have seen are full of personality, so lively and funny.

I love pugs! I've always had pugs. I participate in Pug Rescue. They're wonderful dogs with HUGE personalities.

Not everyone hates pugs. I have several neighbors who have pugs -one of them is very friendly with my 2 dogs & cries when they leave. They seem to be great dogs. Like with anything else, some people like one kind of dog & some don't. I happen to love dogs & can't say that I hate any breed, though I'm not quite as fond of a few breeds as I am of the rest.

Your friends are a$$holes. I have a pug and I love him to death. My great aunt came over once and said that he was ugly..and then he went outside and peed on her tire. He had never done that before haha. Good times. Some people only like certain dogs..so that's why your friends say that.

It just takes a particular form of appreciation to love a smoosh-faced dog. Simple as that.
