My Media Studies teacher said there were, to catch shoplifters. Though as a former shoplifter, I was never caught by these supposed security cameras.
Are there security cameras in store dressing rooms and if so, isn't that against the law?

And doesn't the store have to say that they have security cameras in their dressing rooms?

Most places have cameras setup in a position to see what you're carrying in and what you're carrying out of the dressing rooms, either at the main entrance or at the stall entrance. This does not violate privacy.

Since you are a former shoplifter, I doubt you have much reason to be worried about others being against the law. Kind of ironic, don't you think?

There can be cameras in any public access area. They cannot legally have any type of image capturing device in an area that might catch you undressed. I have personally arrested a shop owner for having cameras in the changing booths. I have also personally arrested a lot more shoplifters.

that is illegal.. if they're going to catch you it has to be outside that area... i recently learned that the employees are not allowed to touch you if you walk out of the store with unpaid goods... this action can be reported to the police (who will touch you) and you are taking a chance, but if you're gung-ho about it you could probably get away with it... of course if you have to ask, you are probably a teen that should get a ******** job and just pay for the stuff you loser, i hope you don't grow up to be a freakin degenerate...

Yes there are in many. Not all, but many. No, it is not against the law.

I doubt it.
And if there is then they better be well hidden because if you find one then its going to be a big pay day for you.
