I don't think that anyone can answer this question for you with any amount of positivity. There is no such thing as a percentage over 100%. I do know pilots in both the military and commercial airlines, some have perfect uncorrected vision, some wear eyeglasses or contacts and some have had surgery for vision correction. The reason I cannot answer the question for you in a positive manner is because you are not completed maturing and growing yet and your vision will change with age. Also some people with certain vision problems are not able to have PRK or LASIK, and that is something only an eye doctor can determine for you. I am 100%+++ positive that you should be off of the computer and asleep in bed by this hour! Have a good night and good luck with your career!

If your vision meets their criteria then yes, because lasik or PRK is a corrective surgery therefore as long as you have 20/70 or 20/20 after the surgery you are clear. If you are not comfortable with the answers here, talk to a recruiting officer and ask them.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Air Force. Their rule used to be uncorrected 20/20, but those rules were made before lasik surgery was available. As long as you had uncorrectable 20/20 you could pass the sight portion and then wear glasses later.

This day and age, the military (and even the airlines) allow 20/70 to 20/20 correctable vision. You must see a doctor and have a pre-approval before doing this, however. Airlines are must more relaxed, accepting correctable vision of 20/70 to 20/20 within their company guidelines.

So, before you do anything, talk to your recruiter and get the stipulations for your operation from him/her.

If you do get Lasik or PRK , you don't have to tell, they may ask you, but you are not required to tell. I went into the army and did not reveal that I was not quityfied, but I stayed in there for 4 years.

Yes, Lasik surgery is acceptable. Why don't you just go to the branch of the military you are interested in and ask so you can ensure the answer is straight from the horse's mouth?

Yes. It's known as Divine Laziness, and Ignorant Design. Ignorant Design comes into it while humans reply a absolutely distinctive query to what used to be requested, or decide upon to rant as an alternative of answering. A beautiful instance I as soon as had used to be a reduce'n'paste that crammed the web page, however didn't reply the query in any respect. I've additionally had a couple of humans who absolutely forget about the query itself, and simply say stuff like 'I agree'. Okay, you compromise. Fair sufficient, now might you prefer to inform me your reply at any time? Divine Laziness is the opposite nice devout rationale for now not studying. It takes the sort of a query structure (I'll scouse borrow your instance): Q: Why do not Xs ever look to tolerate Ys? QD: I do not in my opinion consider there is many Xs who dislike Ys, it is only a small minority who have a tendency to be tremendously impolite and disgusting of their attitudes. A case of the noisiest few, so as to talk. What's your opinion in this? A: We're now not ALL like that!!! Stop being so judgemental!! ummmm.....READ IT NEXT TIME!!!! lol. ((((hugs))))

If you can get your vision within the standards you can fly in the military. Since you will have to requalify periodically and these surgeries do not always last and your vision may revert there is a risk this will happen to you.

Here is the best answer I can think of . Call a recruiter and ask them they know better than anyone since the rules and regs in the military are subject to change

Yes, you can become a pilot, but YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE THE SURGERY YET. Talk to a recruiter when you are a little older. I know for sure that the policy is that right now, they will recommend you a special surgery that DOES NOT MESS UP YOUR NIGHT VISION. my best advice is just to not worry about it until your junior/senior year of high school, when recruiters actually listen to you.

Contact a recruiter and then take the ASVAB. Check to make sure that you would even qualify to fly planes before you get the surgery. And can you get the surgery while being a minor?
