i'm going to try jazz for teh first time but then i'm kind of lost on what they are looking for and how i should dress. I'm a little bit nervous, yet excited.

Wear black leotards or black dress. Shoes usually help, but some go barefoot.

I would suggest that for a jazz class, it is not allowed to worry about being dressed inappropriately. Just try to improvise your outfit on the spot ;-) (I dont think they have the "how to dress up for jazz" class in college yet)

come in comfortable clothing just bring a positive attitude.(it would be a plus if u new how to play a brass instrument)
